Background of the issue:
I am experiencing an issue with the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) after performing a bulk translation on my site hidden link. The translated content appears correctly on the frontend and in the WordPress editor.
Symptoms:
When I try to edit the translations in ATE, all fields are empty. Additionally, as soon as I exit ATE, the status changes to 'assigned to a translator', even though the translation was previously completed. I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
-Synchronize local job IDs with ATE jobs
-Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE
Despite these actions, the problem persists, and I am unable to edit translations in ATE after bulk translation.
Questions:
Could you please provide guidance on how to resolve this issue and ensure that translations remain editable within ATE?
P.S. By bulk translation, I mean the process of exporting multiple translation jobs as XLIFF files, having them translated externally, and then importing them back into WPML. The issue occurs after re-importing these files—WPML applies the translations correctly on the site, but the Advanced Translation Editor displays empty fields instead of the imported content.
You see, you can't "mix" translation methods, because each one works in a different way. You won't lose the content that was already translated but you won't see it as translated on whatever method you use.
It's more visible when you "go backwards" (from a translated content into the translation editor which is a "step in between") but in general mixing translation methods will end up in missing content.
The only solution here is to translate directly in the translation editor or disable the translation editor and translate manually, directly on the native editor from WordPress (you can do that by editing the page in question and select the related option under the "languages" section of the page, where you can also select what language to translate).
Give it a try and let us know if that's ok for you.
