[Resolved] Avada post page settings are not being copied to the translation
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client was experiencing issues with translating posts from English to Spanish using the Avada theme on their WordPress site. The main problems were that the featured image displayed incorrectly, side margins were not respected, and the background color was missing in the translated version. Additionally, the Avada post page settings were not being copied to the translation. Solution: We recommended translating the 'Custom Content Layouts' for the posts in question. This involved accessing the Avada layout sections in the WordPress admin and ensuring that the layouts were correctly assigned and translated. We also suggested adjusting the layout conditions to include specific posts or categories to ensure that the design settings apply correctly across different languages. After these adjustments, the client confirmed that the layout appeared correctly in the translated posts.
Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate posts from English to Spanish while maintaining the page settings and design. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link. I expected the translated page to have the same design as the default language post: hidden link.
Symptoms:
The translated page has almost the same design, but the featured image is being displayed incorrectly, the side margins are not respected, and there is no background color.
Questions:
Why are the Avada post page settings not being copied to the translation?
How can I ensure the translated page maintains the same design as the original?
Thanks for contacting us. This link hidden link is not accessible to me. Probably you've hidden it.
I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Thanks for your patience. I've edited the English language page here and in the "Avada Page Options" below, it says that "This Post is currently using a custom Content Layout Section. Go to Layout screen, or edit your Workshops content" as shown in the attached screenshot.
But when I edited the Spanish language page here hidden link , it is not using any Custom Content Layout Sections.
Could you please translate the "Custom Content Layouts" here hidden link and let me know if it fixes it?
Hi Kor
I´ve just translated all the Content layouts (thanks for pointing it out!), but unfortunately the issue persists.
I´ve updated the default language posts and resaved the ESP translation.
I also translated another post (with the same layout) from scratch, same issue> hidden link
I´ve made the Spanish language visible again (it was hidden indeed).
Please let me know what the next steps are.
Additionally, the SEO fields of the Smartcrwal plugin are not being sent to translation either. I know it´s another querey, but maybe it´s all related.
Hi Kor
What I see now is:
1) The Avada "Workshops" layout in English are "gone". Please check the screenshot.
2) I updated the Eng post hidden link and then re-saved the ESP translation. Still not working ok.
Looking foward for the workaround! As I cannot keep on working on the website!
Thanks for your reply. I've added the post in the conditions as shown in attached screenshot and it's displaying correctly now on your Spanish post here hidden link . Could you check?
Hi Kor
Thanks for the workaround. It seems to be working now.
Though I´m concerned because:
1) The ENG layout sections "vanished". I´ve just re-added then myself but I fear future conflicts.
2) The layout already had a wider condition for all the posts with "Workshop" category. So, it should not be necessary to add each individual post by hand! With your workaround, I´ll have to add each new post I translate? 🙁
I think this needs to be addressed as a bug asap, as the Layouts are an important feature in Avada themes.
Thanks for your reply. I'll try to answer your questions accordingly.

With your workaround, I´ll have to add each new post I translate? 🙁 Could you try adding the "Spanish" > "Talleres" category into the condition and see if it works? (refer screenshot)
Hi Kor
Sorry for my delay in coming back to you. The original issue seems to be solved! But I´m still facing issues regarding WPML working properly with Avada.
The "post-card" element filters are not beingtranslated, even thought, the post-card itself, and all tags-categories are translated too. I also added the custom XML code for this purpose and it´s not working 🙁 https://wpml.org/forums/topic/avada-postcard-element-category-filters-not-translated/
Shall i open another ticket, or can you help me sort this out?
Thanks in advance
