Background of the issue:
I recently updated all the categories of my WooCommerce products. However, when I go to Category Translations, only a small portion of them are translated automatically. I need a way to refresh/update the translations of all categories without removing or overwriting the existing product translations. I only want to update the category names themselves. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
The only way I can trigger the translation is by manually updating each product that is assigned to these categories. I have more than 8,000 products, so this method is impossible to do one by one. If I trigger a full product re-translation, it will consume a very large amount of translation credits, which I want to avoid.

Questions:
How can I update all category translations in bulk without affecting the product translations?

Hello,

To ensure the quickest and most accurate support, please provide your debug information so I can look at some of your configurations. We have an excellent article on how to locate it here: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/.

I understand that you already did this:
1. Go to **WPML → Taxonomy Translation**.
2. In the dropdown menu at the top of the page, select **Product categories (product_cat)**.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the button that says **Synchronize Product Categories Assignment in Content**.

Can you please do it again, but before do the following:

1.
Go to WPML → Settings.
In Posts and pages synchronization, enable “Copy taxonomy to translations” (at least for Products / product post type).

2.
Go to WPML → Support → Troubleshooting.
In the Cleanup dropdown, select Products and click Synchronize post taxonomies.
Wait for the process to finish.

3.
Please follow the instructions mentioned on this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/
Then, try to reproduce the issue and check your installation's **wp-content** folder to see if a file named **"debug.log"** was created (it will only be generated if a server error occurs).

If the file was created after doing my first suggestion, please upload it to a platform like **Google Drive** or **Dropbox** (whichever you usually use) and share the link with me (make sure it is publicly accessible) so I can analyze it.

Let me know your results, please.

Best Regards,
Otto

Hello,

Thanks.

I asked to enable the debug mode to check if the synchronization process fails, as it will provide us with extra information to understand why.

As the synchronization worked, there is no further need to enable the debug log.

Best Regards,
Otto
