I reuploaded the background images of the certificates and it seems fine now. The problem is this is a manual patch. How can I protect against losing this when I update?
The only way to make this code persistent, is to rewrite it, so it can be added to the functions.php file. After that, you can create a child theme or add with a snippets plugin.
Otherwise you'll need to reinsert the modification after updates.
