Background of the issue:
I am developing a site where the original language is German. I want internal links to automatically link to the English version on several pages. I scanned for internal links and used ATE to search for 'http', but nothing was found. I am following the 'wpml internal links' documentation.
Symptoms:
Internal links are not set for the English language version and are not visible in ATE.
Questions:
What is the solution for automatically linking internal links to the English version without changing them manually?
I've checked your screenshots and it looks like you're translating a page created using Elementor. Links should be visible in the Advanced Translation Editor.
I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Plug in deactivations don't help. A colleague from you already tested a lot.
This development site should go live this week. But the problems with internal links should be solved. I use WPML that I don't have to handle all internal links manually.
