This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client installed the latest version of WPML and set up a menu switcher, but it only appears when logged into WordPress. When viewing the site in a private tab or logged out, the menu switcher disappears. Additionally, the 'About Us' page is waiting for automatic translation and does not appear in the translation queue.
Solution:
We recommend checking if the secondary language is set to "hidden" on your site, which can be managed here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/hiding-languages-on-the-front-end/. Also, ensure that the pages are in the "Published" state and not set as "Draft". For the homepage, verify that the translation is published or that the page is translated. If these steps do not resolve the issue, we suggest providing temporary access to your site for further investigation, ensuring to back up your site files and database first. Please review our privacy and security policy here: https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, please check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. We highly recommend opening a new support ticket if the problem persists. You can do so here: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/.

Hi there.

This might happen if you have the secondary language set to "hidden" (https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/hiding-languages-on-the-front-end/) or if the pages are not in "Published" state yet but instead, they are set to "Draft".

Please check and let me know how that goes.

Kind regards,

Hello Mihai!

The website is published, and the Ukrainian language is set to show. Website here: hidden link

I'm resetting the server cache and CDN. For me, the menu switcher only appears when logged in.

Hi there and welcome back.

It seems that your homepage's translation is set as draft or is not published yet (or the page is not translated yet).

That's why on the homepage you don't see the switcher yet.

From what I can see, on this page for example (hidden link), the switcher shows up fine so this page is translated and the translation is published.

I hope that this information will help you figure out what's going wrong 🙂

Okay, great. That all makes sense. The 'About Us' page shows as 'waiting for automatic translation' - how can I force that to translate? It does not appear in the translations queue.

Hi there.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of the site files and database before providing us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box.

The private box looks like this: hidden link

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
