This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with WPML recognizing a dual domain setup as a site move or copy, which prevents translating on the secondary domain. The client is unsure how to proceed with the WPML migration wizard and license key registration.
Solution:
1. From either your primary or secondary domain, navigate to WPML → Support and click on the Troubleshooting link. On the WPML Troubleshooting page, click the button labeled 'Force-enable WPML’s Advanced Translation Editor'.
2. For the license key issue:
- Go to Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial on your website.
- Unregister WPML by clicking the 'unregister' link.
- Visit https://wpml.org/account/sites/ and delete the existing site key.
- Return to Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial on your website and click the 'register' link.
- You can add the correct key first and then follow the banner wizard to set this website as a copy.
If these steps do not resolve your issue or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.
