This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are experiencing a permission issue with the WPML plugin because there is no 'languages' folder in your wp-content directory. This results in an error stating that 'WPML String Translation is attempting to write .mo files with translations' but cannot due to the missing folder.
Solution:
We recommend manually creating the 'languages' folder in your wp-content directory. This should resolve the permission issue and allow WPML String Translation to write the necessary .mo files. If you're experiencing this issue, please try this solution and check if it resolves the error.

Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to resolve a permission issue with the WPML plugin. My plugins showed an error of permission: 'WPML String Translation is attempting to write .mo files with translations to folder: /home/customer/www/bnbtravelandtours.com/public_html/wp-content/languages'. I checked my website directory and found that there is no 'languages' folder. The issue can be seen at hidden link.

Symptoms:
The WPML plugin is showing a permission issue because there is no 'languages' folder in the wp-content directory. I expected to see all code and plugin working well, but instead, I got a red error.

Questions:
How can I solve the permission issue with the WPML plugin?
Why is there no 'languages' folder in my wp-content directory?

Hi there.

That notice might also show because the folder is missing (there are probably strict rules on the server, and the plugin could not create the folder).

Can you please manually create the "languages" folder and see if things are ok after that?

Please let us know how that goes.
