It’s always a good idea to save money, but these days it’s becoming critical. WPML’s small contribution is by offering 10,000 words of automatic translation for free, every month.
How Automatic Translation Reduces the Cost of Runnings Multilingual Sites
No matter if you’re translating your sites or you have others doing the translation, WPML’s automatic translation will save time and money. Automatic translation gets it right about 90%-95% of the time. This means that you only need to edit 10%-5% of the translation. So, automatic translation normally brings down the cost of running a multilingual site by 90% to 95%.
How to Translate Automatically
To translate content automatically, you’ll need to use WPML’s Advanced Translation Editor. You can translate automatically from inside the editor (per job), or entire batches of jobs. When you translate entire batches of jobs, it’s still a good idea to review the translation and edit it, when needed.
How to Receive Your 10,000 Free Words
Please note that the 10,000 free words promotion ended on October 8, 2020. Please see our current automatic translation pricing.
All clients with valid WPML Multilingual CMS and Multilingual Agency accounts (not expired accounts) receive 10,000 words of free automatic translation every month. To claim your free quota, log-in to your WordPress site. Then, go to WPML→Translation Management→Translation Tools. You will see a message that looks like this:
Click on the Claim Words button and you’re all set for this month. Next month, if you need additional automatic translation quota, you can visit this dialog again and reload your quota for free automatic translation.

Vladimir, you’re clicking on that button in your WordPress site and not on the screenshot in this announcement post, right? (just making sure). If it’s not working for you, I suggest to check the JavaScript console and see if it’s showing any errors. Then, can you please report this in WPML technical forum? One of our supporters will check your site and see why it’s not working for you.

Thanks
Thank you, I’ll check the console.
Hello,
I have a valid License and cannot click the button in the admin area.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you
Sorry about that. It was a bug on our side. We fixed it now. Can you please retry?
The button cannot be clicked.
Moving over the button, the cursor gets a “not-allowed” property.
There are no errors in the Javascript console.

Is this a restriction on the account or on every site account?
Words are per WPML license. If you have 2 sites registered with the same license, only one can claim the words, but you can share between all sites you own following those steps: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/
Hello!
Thank you for this offer! However I cannot see the Translation tools page and I have an account.
Best
This is available when you are using WPML’s Advanced Translation Editor. If it’s not enabled on your site now, have a look here for the instructions:

Hi Amir!
Thank you for the quick reply, I will look into it!

Hello Amir,
actually the button in my backend is not clickable and the message says:
For this month you already received 10,000 free words on 2020/03/31 from https://www.hardware-wallets.de. You can get the next 10,000 words on 2020/04/01.
Really cannot understand who ‘hardware-wallets’ is, and how they claim these words…
Am i missing something?
Thanks

Cannot click the claim button.
Should I click the “Sign up” (free) button first?
Check this screen shot:

You can claim words once per wpml.org account per month. If you have several sites registered under same wpml.org account, only one can claim the offer. This will be the first one where the button is clicked.
For the rest, the button will be disabled and a message will be shown telling from which of the other sites the claim was done.
If you want to share the words among different sites that you own, you can connect them following the steps described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/
You can check current sites in your WPML account using this link: https://wpml.org/account/sites/
If the site that claimed the words is not part of your account, please open a support ticket here: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
There is no such message in my admin panel (translation tools). There is no update to be done, I use the German version (if that’s a factor). I have a WordPress multisite installation and tried with the website is bound to my wpml account.
You can find the claim button in WPML -> Translation Management -> Translation tools. It requires Translation Management plugin (from WPML suite) to be installed.
If it still not visible, please open a support ticket here: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/ and provide a screenshot with Translation Tools tab.

Hello,
I have only one registered site and I am the only administrator, so I don’t understand.
Especially since even the 2000 words per month are not available.
Thank you for explaining me, or for giving me a link with the details of my consumption, because there I do not understand.
thank you
Sorry about that. It was a bug on our side. We fixed it now. Can you please retry?
I wanted to access my words for free, and I see that there is a website that does not belong to me has used the words, is this possible? In the banner appears the web address of an online store that I have never seen. I can add a screenshot if it is better to understand it.

Hello Eduard,
thank for your replay, but like I said, in the banner, were I should click on “Claim words” it says I already used the words, and it shows the web address of an online store that I have never seen, and it´s not registered in my account. It’s very strange, and I already opened a ticket to check this.
Thank you.

Solved Eduard, thank you very much for your kindness in solving this.
Hi,
not appearing in the console

In my wordpress site, I cannot click the button too.
Will be maybe ok from tomorrow, starting the new month?
Thank you

Me too. the prohibition symbol appears and he does not click on it

thanks for this, Amir!
So it is not working for everyone.
Because I have the cheapest account.
All clients with valid WPML account .. is not correct
You’re right. That’s my mistake when I wrote about this feature. Since it uses our Advanced Translation Editor, which comes with WPML Translation Management, if you only have a “Multilingual Blog” account, you can’t use it. I’m editing the post now to explain it. Thanks for the good catch.
I’ve tried to claim the 10,000 words but when I hover over claim words, it won’t allow me to click it.
Thanks!
Heather

I’m quite sure I haven’t received the words.
Have a good day
Roberto

Still not working. I receive this message:
“We’re sorry, but something went wrong.
If you are the application owner check the logs for more information.”
Might be a temporary issue. Can you please try again?
Now I can see it but the button is not clickable
Can you provide a screenshot with the box containing the explanation of why the button is not clickable?
Hi,
I have a lifetime license on WPML. Will this mean this is valid for all my websites?
Br,
Luc
10000 words are per WPML license. First site that claims will get it, rest of the site will not be able to claim the words
Hello Amir,
I followed the steps you listed but did not get the message.
Kindly advise
Thanks!
Please open a support ticket here: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
I’m assuming that those of us with a lifetime plan do not qualify for this offer, correct? Because I enabled automatic translation and can see the option to “Claim Words”, but the button is greyed out.
Lifetime accounts qualify, but only from one site. If the button is grayed out, it means that was already claimed from from another website on your account, there should be a text explanation why the button is grayed out
No, it has *not* been claimed on another site. I *only* enabled automatic translation on one site just a few moments ago, and that site is the only one that has the “Translation Tools” tab available on the WPML->Translation Management page. However, the “Claim Words” button is still greyed out. Do I need to sign up for Automatic Translation first, and enter my payment information before I will have the option to add on the free 10,000 words?
Thank you for offering this, as I believe it is a noble thing to do during this global crisis.
No, you don’t need to sign up for Automatic Translation first. Those words are offered even without a subscription to Automatic Translation. May I know your website url and a screenshot of the box with the grayed out button?
staging8.themodernpsalmist.com is the staging site where I’m trying to set this up, and here is the screenshot: Screenshot
To be able to claim this offer, you need to have active WPML subscription and WPML has to be registered on the site with a valid key generated from your WPML account. You should login in your WPML account and make sure that this site is registered with a valid key. To reach your account, you should use this link: https://wpml.org/account/sites/.
The site is registered and has a valid key: Screenshot
Are you saying then that you don’t support subdomains for staging sites?
The only thing that matters is that WPML installation on the site to be registered with a valid key attached to your account. Can you try claiming the words from the main site registered? Or check and make sure that WPML is registered on the staging site with the same key as the main site.
The button cannot be clicked. March 31st 2020 13h58 NY
Please make sure that WPML is registered on the site that you are trying with a valid key generated from your account (https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/).
If you need further assistance, please open a support ticket here: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support
I have a Life Time SMS on that site.
Close the case. NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR AUTOMATIC TRANSLATION, I was just curious after receiving an email from AMIR.
1- I do not see “Translation Tools” on my site (WordPress set in French)
2- On “Translation Manager” page, the 4th Tab is “Translation Works” not TOOLS
You need to have Advanced Translation Editor activated. You can activate it from WPML -> Settings
Hi,
I also cannot click on the button but with a different behaviour:
I can see the offer, the button is not greyed out but when I hover over with the mouse the mouse arrow changes to a circle crossed through and I cannot click. When I inspect the object with the browser built in inspector the button says it is disabled.
I have a lifetime subscription and the latest version of the components. I also recreated the key and re-registered my domain to no avail.
Please advise,
Mark

You need to have Translation Management plugin installed and you should have Advanced Translation Editor enabled (from WPML -> Settings). If those 2 conditions are met, the option will be available in WPML -> Translation Management -> Translation Tools
I Checked 2 websites… Been using WPML for many years, so I know I have Translation Management and yes Advanced Translation Editor is enabledit and when I check WPML -> Translation Management -> Translation Tools
