Background of the issue:
I would like to create translations in my development site first, then push those translations to my live site (pccarelearningcenter.com) when they are ready.

Symptoms:
I can't find any documentation on how this works.

Questions:
How do I push translations in development to my live site?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you wait for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with the first debugging steps or see if I can help with the issue quickly.

You can share the translations between the two sites. This feature, among other purposes, was built to manage the translations between the development and production sites. Please read about it in our guide here.

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site/

If you need further help with this issue please share your site's Debug information. You can read about it here.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi, thank you I have seen that guide you provided but I need more help as this does not explain how I can push a translation from my development site (hidden link) to my live site (hidden link).

For example, I need to translate my homepage into dari/farsi.

1) In development, I go to the editor (hidden link) and select the + under the Persian language column next to the homepage to add translation.

2) I complete the translation using the advanced translation editor and save translation.

3) The translated page is now live on the development site

4) HOW do I push this translated page now to the live production site? A translation hasn't been added yet (there is still a + sign).

5) Do I hit the + sign to add translation? Does it carry over my edits from the translation in development?

** Also, can I make edits to the string translations in staging that will update production? Or do I need to do both separately?

Hello,

When conencting the sites they should be sharing the translation memory.

You will still need to create the translations on your new site. When opening the Advanced Translation Editor you should see the translations being pulled from translation memory.

Best regards
Andreas
