This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The category thumbnail is missing in the secondary language. Solution: If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you try the following steps: 1. Navigate to WPML -> Settings -> Custom Term Meta Translation. 2. Search for
thumbnail_id
. 3. Change its setting from 'Don't translate' to 'Copy', and then click the Save button. 4. Go to Products -> Categories, and use the 'Quick Update' option by clicking the 'Update category' button. This should ensure that the thumbnails are copied over to the translated terms. Additionally, this issue has been addressed in the latest version of WPML Multilingual & Multicurrency for WooCommerce. We recommend updating to this version to permanently resolve the problem.
Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket.
