[Closed] 2nd language home redirects to primary language

Hi,

When going to url hidden link it redirects to hidden link
This only happens when logged in. I've disabled caching and plugins to solve the issue but it's still there.

See hidden link

Also tried clearing WPML cache.

Please assist.

Hello,

I'm not logged in and I can reproduce the issue. As you can see on that link, there is a redirect 301: hidden link

Let's try to identify the source of that redirect:
1. Redirections
- You have a plugin called "Redirection" let's start here. Check if there is a redirection created here or disable this plugin for a moment and try to access the NL homepage.
- Same thing for Yoast SEO, I think that plugin has also a redirection functionality.
- Check your .htaccess file to make for redirections too.

2. WordPress has a hard time to resolve the URL
- Then try to disable all plugins that could alter your URLs: "No Category Base (WPML)", "Premmerce Permalink Manager for WooCommerce"

3. Is the translation published?
- That should be the issue, because when you're logged in as admin you can see drafts on the frontend but just to be sure, please go to "Pages" switch to NL and check if the NL homepage is published.

4. Random error
- Switch back to English
- Go to "Settings > Reading" and resave your static homepage
- Go to "Settings > Permalinks" and resave your permalinks

Hi Nicolas,

The issue comes and goes. Currently it's working normal.

There's no redirect there when I check hidden link

The page is published and there are no redirects in any of the plugins mentioned. When the issue is there it's only an issue when logged in.

I will try disabling the plugins mentioned when it's happening again but I think I've tried that in the past already.

Hi Jaap,

If the issue appears randomly it will be hard to spot.

Few clarifications:
- The issue is not only when logged in. As I mentioned in my previous answer, I was able to reproduce the issue and if you click on the link I shared you will see that redirect 301.
- Right now the issue is not there anymore. I can access the NL homepage (I tried on Chrome, Firefox and Edge with and without trailing slash).

When the issue appears again, can you tell me if any of the actions mentioned above (like re-saving permalinks) solves this or it simply comes and goes and nothing I recommended worked?
