[Resolved] Assistance Required for Website Auto-Translation Issues
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing issues with translating their website into multiple languages using WPML. Despite deducting credits, the content, including Menu ACF field content, was not translated. The URLs were cloned, but no content or menu ACF field changes occurred. Solution: 1. Update WPML to the latest version: - Create a backup of your website or use a staging version. - Navigate to WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Add new > Commercial (tab). - Click the Check for Updates button. - Update WPML and its addons. For more information, visit https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#automated-updates.
4. Verify that you have sufficient credits for Automatic translation: Navigate to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Translation Management > Tools to check your credit balance.
If these steps do not resolve your issue, or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your specific case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Additionally, please feel free to open a new support ticket for further assistance at WPML support forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
We need assistance with translating our website into six languages at hidden link. English and German translations have been added and corrected manually by the WP admin. We have purchased 200k credits for the auto-translation. Yesterday, we used approximately 40k credits to translate some content.
Symptoms:
Despite the credits being deducted, none of the content, including Menu ACF field content, was translated. The URLs were cloned, but no content or menu ACF field changes took place.
Questions:
Could you please guide us on what might be going wrong and how we can correct it?
Could you please provide details on where the 40k credits used yesterday were applied? We are unable to locate the translated content.
The chat was disconnected. I changed the chat to a ticket.
It is hard for us to judge if it will be problems or not. I suggest that you do as follows:
- GO to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Langauges
- Click the Add / Remove languages button
- Uncheck all other languages except the latest language that you have added. Only one new language.
- Save the result and ignore other messages there.
- Now you will have only one language that the automatic translation need to work on.
- Let the automatic translation to work and finish the job.
- Check the website completely to see if there is no problems.
- If so open up a new chat for each problem so we can investigate.
- After that you know it works ok for the one language, add another language and do the same.
That way you will know proper credits will be used.
In the DE language, all the strings are showing in progress. I have tried all the possible ways that i have found in the WPML support forum. I have attached a screenshot for your reference.
I am not sure which steps you took but I will try to give some pointers here that I'd appreciate it if you could follow:
1. Update WPML as I see the debug info shows you are using an older version.
- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Add new > Commercial (tab)".
- Click the "Check for Updates" button.
- Update WPML and its addons there.
This is my url hidden link
I have added a text in the default language (English). But it does not autotranslate in another language. I can't see that text in another language. For your reference, I have attached a screenshot.
Hi,
Yes, I followed what you told me earlier and my issue was resolved.
Now, I am facing an issue with autotranslate. I try with the help of WPML forums. But the problem is not resolved.
I want to know the process. like, If I made some changes in the default language. Then, what steps do I need to take to view text changes in other languages?
Can you please guide me step by step?
Also, In the Translation Management. There, is showing "9 translations waiting for review". when I click, there is no file found to translate.
Christopher is unavailable for a few days, so I'm answering here instead of him. We're glad that the original issue of this ticket is solved now. Please open a new ticket in our forum for your other issue.
To see changes for pages or posts, go to WPML -> Translation Management. From there, you can control all the translations.
