Background of the issue:
I am trying to register my site with WPML. I have deleted the site and tried to register it again several times. At https://wpml.org/account/sites/, I click on the address of my site, and in the admin backend, I am told that my site is now properly registered. The issue can be seen at hidden link.

Symptoms:
The admin backend complains about its inability to connect to wpml.org, and the log contains messages about a site key mismatch. The log says: 'wpml: Unable to register: Site key not matching'.

Questions:
Why is there a site key mismatch when trying to register my site with WPML?
How can I resolve the communication error with wpml.org?
