This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are unable to complete translations because the navigation menus are permanently marked as "In progress" and you encounter the message "Save all sentences before finishing".
Solution:
1. Check the translation status in WPML > Translation Management. If a translation has been assigned to another translator, it won't appear in WPML > Translations. To address this, resend the page or template for translation from WPML > Translation Management. This action allows you to either reassign it to a different translator or take over the translation yourself.
2. If you open the Advanced Translation Editor for a page that is fully translated, its status will change to "In Progress." To finalize it, simply edit the translations as needed and click "Complete Translations." If you need to reassign the translation, follow the same steps as mentioned above by resending the page or template for translation.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Thanks for contacting us.

I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

I've checked and I can see the navigation menus that you're referring to show "complete" in Translation Management as shown in the attached screenshot.

Are you still having issues trying to display the language switchers on the header and footer navigation? I can do this for you if you want.

Hi Kor,
Thank you for your kind offer, but I want to do it myself - I must replicate all steps in the production website

Thanks for your reply.

Could you backup and share access to your production site so that I can check and see if you've configured everything correctly? Then, I will guide you on how to setup the language switcher on the header and footer navigation menu.

regretfully no, but please check the setting at the DEV site where you have access - especially media. They will be replicated 1:1 to production
thx

Thanks for your reply.

Here is a screen recording that shows you what I did to display the language switcher on the header navigation. Then, retranslating the "HeaderMy1" Template Part will copy the language switcher to your German language page.

While including language switcher in the navigation menu I was astonished to find that there is already one in the Header.
I have explicitly denied your assistance in displaying the language switchers on the header and footer navigation.
It is extremely not nice from you to manipulate my website against my will, so

I EXPLICITLY PROHIBIT YOU TO MANIPULATE MY WEBSITE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION

Have you manipulated the front page “DEV Mid-Century Design Furniture from Mid …” as well? – it was completed and now “In progress”

It you want to make comments about Settings - do it.

Thanks for your reply.

I apologize for making the changes directly on your Website. Please let me know if you want me to reverse them.

These emails tell you what's happening with your translations and which job is being removed/assigned from your translation jobs in WPML > Translations.

Now that all navigation menus are translated successfully, may I know what you would like me to assist you with?

1. Re your change: Do not reverse
2. You have offered to review the setting – than do it please.
3. Have you touched my website at 14:59 CET today?

I've checked your WPML settings and all is good. Are you able to figure out how to display the language switcher on the header and footer?

December 5, 2024 at 7:32 pm #16483557

alexZ-17

1. Thank you. Yes, I included the switcher in the navigation menu (“Navigation 4 Header”) – right corner, yours is on the left side (LanguageSwitcher_20241204.jpg).

2. Now a real problem: “Navigation 4 Header” and HeaderMy1 have disappeared from the translations, cf. Translations_20241204.jpg and Translations_20241205.jpg - yesterday there were there.
I have found HeaderMy1 in Jobs, cf. Jobs_20241205.jpg
Can you find “Navigation 4 Header” and explain what to do in such case? – whose fault is it is of no importance.

3. FYI: The front page “DEV Mid-Century Design Furniture from M…” has again status “In progress”.
Reason is Marcel (out of office till Monday) manipulated it:
“December 5, 2024 at 4:29 pm
I assigned the job to myself earlier to check if the WPML flag class might be visible in the search as a hidden element. It seems the cancellation isn't being saved correctly. I see "Cancelled," but after refreshing, it remains open. This was the reason it was "In Progress" for you. You can try reassigning it to yourself as a new job and saving it with 100%.”

How and where can I reassign it to me? Where can I see these assignments in WP.WPML?

thx
