Hello, Please click "mark this site as a copy" at the bottom section of the migration banner. Also, take note that each site URL needs to be registered on wpml.org, and each site uses a unique site key to connect with wpml.org. Best regards |

Hi, I did that and got this message. Let’s connect the automatic translation credits between the two copies of this site BUT when I click the link to get the migration code it just sends me back to my own site here. hidden link Which is super frustrating. |

Yes, the link will send you to the section where you can opt for the migration code on the same site. More details can be found here: You can also select "No" in this second step and then connect the sites later. |

What I am saying is the link to get the migration code isn't working. Its just taking me back to my web site not to WPML. It it helps the link text is hidden link BUT it doesn't take me to a code. |

Ok, for now, please select "No" and then use this documentation to connect the sites: I will try to recreate this issue on a new test site. |

My apologies, as I just left a comment here that was supposed to be for a different ticket. I am replacing this comment right now. Note, that I am still trying to recreate the reported issue for further escalation. |

My apologies for the delay in answering, as my queue was very loaded and I do not work on Sundays and Mondays. I can sadly not confirm any issue on my tests. You said: "BUT when I click the link to get the migration code it just sends me back to my own site here. hidden link" This should send you to WPML > Translation Management > Translation Tools where you find the section "Connected site" including the options to "Copy migration code" or to "Enter the connection key for another site". See screenshot. What were you expecting the link to redirect to? Meanwhile, were you able to set up your sites successfully? |

Hi thanks for following up. I gave up and just added production (www.achilles.com) as another site using pay as you go. It won't cost anymore because all translations are only done in production. Hayley |

Ok, but please follow this guide if you would like to connect sites: Only make sure to add the second site's migration code to the site that already has a subscription. Also, make sure that there is only one active subscription for your production site. The site that you are going to connect to should not have an active subscription for Pay As You Go. |

Now I have the same issue with UAT... argh! It is immensely frustrating that WPML doesn't recognise that sites move from Dev to UAT to Production on a regular basis. OR that there isn't a workflow to manage it. This is even though I have WPMPL licensed for all 3 instances. Im now trying to add English and French Canadian in UAT it won't let me. So much time I have spent on this this week. |

The link to a migration code does not work and when I do try to add a new language I am getting this critical error. |

The journey is like this... it asks me if I want to register this as a copy... Which I do. So I click yes. Then I get this screen shot telling me to follow the link and get a migration code. When I click the link to get the migration code it takes me to my live site at this URL see screen shot. hidden link There is not a migration code there. So I am now completely lost. I had set aside a day to do this today. I have now been doing it for 2 hours and got exactly nowhere. |

We are really sorry about the inconvenience. Basically, anytime the site URL changes, the site needs to get registered again on wpml.org. This means switching from dev to production will only work for using the site key if the site URL does not change. Also, please kindly note that WPML 4.8, which will be released by the end of this month, will include an enhancement that will make migrations work more smoothly. For the link issue on the banner: I reported this issue, but the devs told me that they are changing the banners currently, and I would suggest waiting until WPML 4.8, and if unexpected issues still occur, then please report them here. How to get the code or to connect sites: While on WPML > Translation Management > Tools, you will need to scroll down and select "Connected sites" and click on it. There you will see the options. Please revise this documentation, including its screenshots: |
