[Resolved] WPML redirection 200 conflict with permalink structure change

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

Premmerce Permalink Manager allows you to set a non-standard product permalinks.

- Normal WooCommerce permalinks look like: /product/sample-product/
- The ones that Premmerce Permalink Manager set allow you to remove the product base: /sample-product/
However, this causes issues in the secondary language as WooCommerce Multilingual still uses either a translated product base or original product base in the URL.

Solution:

Follow the workaround from this page https://wpml.org/errata/premmerce-permalink-manager-using-product-slug-for-product-permalink-works-only-on-default-language/

Tell us what you are trying to do?

I used a different plugin to remove /product/ from my webshop urls. It works on default english version, but my Polish domain protestkit.pl urls are redirected to default permalink structure by WPML. How do I fix this?

Thank you for contacting WPML support!

I understand you're using a plugin to trim the WooCommerce product base permalink. And while it works in the default language, it does not work with the translated products.

I checked the website's debug information and found multiple plugins that somehow related to redirections and WooCommerce permalinks.

Thank you for reproducing the issue on the sandbox website.

It looks like you're using "Premmerce Permalink Manager for WooCommerce" to trim the product base.

The issue has been reported to the plugin's developer, and we're still waiting for a response. In the meantime, you can use the workaround explained here: https://wpml.org/errata/premmerce-permalink-manager-using-product-slug-for-product-permalink-works-only-on-default-language/.
