This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client needs to know if there is a setting in WPML that allows updates made in the original language, such as adding a photo to a page, to be automatically visible in all translated versions of the page.
Solution:
We informed the client that the steps they are taking to update the translated content are correct. Currently, WPML does not offer a way to automatically update translated content when changes are made to the original language. Each translated page must be edited individually to reflect the changes.

Hello,

Are there any settings that I can make so my updates are visible in all languages?

For example, if I add a photo on a page in the original language, the photo is not visible in the other languages, and I have to edit the page as many times as the number of languages I use.

Thank you!

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

The steps you are describing are the correct ones to update the translated content. And there is no other way within WPML to automatically update translated content.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Regards,
Carlos

Hello,

I see on other of my websites (hidden link) that if I upload an image in a gallery, the image is visible in all of the languages. If I do the same thing in the media carousel of the front page (www.unicrotarex.ro), the image is visible only in the language I have edited. Hope I am clear enough.
Am I not getting something here? Why is this happening?

Many thanks!

Hi there,

What you mentioned is related to a specific configuration (it is recommended that you still update the translated content) that you can find when editing a post/page, go to the right column, Languages block, and activate the two options to duplicate the featured image and the attached media.

Also, if the images are saved in a custom field, then you have to make sure that the custom field is set to 'Copy' (https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-custom-fields/).
