Background of the issue:
I am working on my coupon website, hidden link, using the Couponis theme. I am trying to translate my coupons using WPML.

Symptoms:
I can't translate my coupons; I get a 404 error on the screen where I try to check the translations. The error URL is hidden link.

Questions:
How can I resolve the 404 error when trying to translate coupons?
Is there a specific setting in WPML that I need to adjust for the Couponis theme?

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

I understand the issue you're having. A 404 error on the translated page may appear due to the following reasons:

- Corrupted permalink structure
- The same slug is used more than once in one language.
- Language is set to `Hidden`

Would you please do the following steps and check if that helps?

- Please ensure that the slug you've used for the posts/pages has not been used for any other post/page in the same language. As WordPress doesn't support identical slugs, it is required to use a unique slug for each post, page, and post type.
- Please go to "Settings > Permalinks" from your WordPress Dashboard
- Resave the structure without making any changes
- Now, go to `WPML > Languages` and scroll to the `Hidden language` section.
- Ensure that the secondary language is not set to "hidden." If it is, go to the language settings, uncheck the hidden option for the language, and save the changes.

Please let me know if the steps above help in solving the issue or if you need further assistance in this matter. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Prosenjit, thank you for your kind email and help. I tried what you said but my problem was not solved. Actually, I can convert everything except my coupons, but I get a page not found error for my coupons. I would be glad if you could help me.My pages, stores or everything else are translated, but I cannot translate my coupons. Actually, they are translated, but I get the page not found error.

If you want, you can connect to my site. The rest of it looks correct, except for my coupons. I think there is a slug problem there, which is why I get the page not found error. It should create a new slug for the translated coupon, but it doesn't.

Hello There!
I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.

Thank you for trying the suggestions! If you suspect the issue is related to the translation of the coupon slug, I recommend translating the slug using the steps below and then testing again:

- Please go to `WPML > Settings` and scroll to the "Translated documents options"
section.
- Set the Page URL to "Translate" and then save the changes.
- Scroll to the "Post type translation" section and ensure that the coupon post type has a unique slug for each language.
- Next, create a new coupon post and translate it. Alternatively, if there are any existing coupon posts that haven’t been translated yet, you can translate those as well.
- Make sure to translate the slug of the post from the translation editor and save the changes.

Please give it a try and let me know how it goes. If the issue persists even after that, I'd be happy to take a closer look and assist you further in this matter.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
