This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was experiencing a 404 error on the static home page in English after attempting to translate the "welcome/home" and "about" pages and adding a menu for the Bulgarian language.

Solution:
We resolved the issue by following the steps provided by Enfold support:
1. Go to the inactive settings in the theme options:
- Maintenance Mode Page
- Custom 404 Page
- Custom Footer Page
2. Activate each setting one by one.
3. Select 'no page' for the option.
4. Deactivate the option.
5. Save the theme settings.
You can find more details on this solution in the Enfold support forum: Enfold support forum.

Hello,

as for your homepage, I checked and see same issue happens in default language. So probably means you have not set correct homepage settings.

1) Navigate to the Settings > Reading page, and under the Your Homepage Displays options, select A static page. Next, use the dropdown menus to choose your homepage and posts page.

2) Go to your theme options and make sure you have set the correct page for the home page. Following our documentation set the homepage also for 2nd language:

Let me know how it goes.

Drazen

Hi Drazen,
Okay the site *was* working fine until i started translating.
I've checked both the WP settings --> reading page, and yes, the "welcome" page is set as the static home page.
I've also gone into enfold and made sure the homepage is set for both languages.
Oddly, if I am logged in as an admin for wp, going to the homepage DOES work (e.g. going to hidden link doesn't trip a 404 error). Only if i am logged OUT does it trip the error.
We're about to launch, and people are already looking at the site, but right now it's a bit nasty that the hompage is flipping me a 404. I'm liking the tool, but... if i can't fix this it'll be unusable for me 🙁
i uploaded screenshots.
i could give you temporary access to my WP if you would help.

Hello,

thanks for checking.

If it works fine when you are logged in then it is probably cache causing the issue. Try clearing the cache from your cache plugin.

If still have an issue you can share admin access to the next private reply and I will take a look.

Please make a backup before proceeding.

Regards,
Drazen

Hello,

thanks for your patience.

I checked and fixed the issue by following the next suggestion from Enfold support:

Please go to each of the inactive settings:
Maintenance Mode Page
Custom 404 Page
Custom Footer Page
then activate each one, one at a time, then select no page for the option, then deactivate the option, then save your theme settings.
