This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are experiencing an issue where the featured image set for a translated post disappears after some time, although it appears correctly in the original language.
Solution:
If you are setting the Featured Image for the translated post directly in the WordPress editor, this might not be necessary. When you translate a post, the featured image from the original post is automatically copied and synchronized with the translation. If you wish to use a different featured image for each language, we recommend following the steps described in this documentation.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket.

Another problem with Post translations:

For some unknown reason, when I select and set a Featured Image for a translated post, that image disappears after a while, I don't understand why?

The featured image appears in the original language (English) of the post...

I need a few more details to understand the situation better.

Do I understand correctly that you are setting the Featured Image for the translated page directly in the WordPress editor?
If so, this is not necessary. When you translate a post from the original page, the featured image is automatically copied and synchronized with the translation.

If your goal is to use a different featured image for each language, please follow the steps described in this article:

No, my goal is not to use a different image, I want it to use the same image as on the original page, but simply the images disappear by themselves. I use elementor to make pages!

Thank you for providing the screencast.

What are the steps to make the Featured Image disappear for post translation? I have updated the post multiple times in the original language and the same in the translation, but the featured image is still there.

I don't even know, there were simply no photos and then I had to add them again and they disappeared again. I am saying this for the Serbian version of the site. Now I see you managed to get the photos back, may I know what you did?

I haven’t made any changes to your site regarding this issue. I simply logged in and opened the page you mentioned in the screencast. I noticed that the Serbian featured image is present.

To verify the problem, I updated the post several times in the original language and then did the same with the translation, checking whether the featured image would disappear. However, the featured image remains intact, and I’m not able to reproduce the issue on your site.
