Hello,

If would be kind of odd that the translation works in Spanish but not in French.

Is the translation of this content completed to 100% inside the WPML Translation Editor?

If so, please check if the translated content has the status "Published".

If this is the case, and the issue still persists, then please let me know.

Best regards
Andreas

It would be easier and faster to provide you with the wordpress admin to have a look how the tours are translated and why I am not able to connect the new translations to the original tours.
Please reply how I can send the credentials on a private ticket

Hello,

You can translate in two ways with WPML, but should always stick with one of both methods:

1) WPML Translation Editor
2) WordPress Editor

I understand right, that you are not planning to use the WPML Translation Editor, correct?

The problem is, that you already clicked the translation icon which opens the WPML Translation Editor.

You need to cancel the currently open jobs at WPML > Translation Management > Jobs first, and after that, you should be able to connect the contents.

Please give this a try.

Best regards
Andreas

Hello,
thank you for your reply.
I cancel all the currently open jobs at WPML > Translation Management > Jobs , and I am still not able to connect the contents.
Please have a close look at French tours and see what you can do to connect them to their contents. There are only 4 tours I added in French language that need to be connected.

Hello,

We always translate from the original content language to a second language.

Your tours were all created in English, so usually we would always translate from EN to FR or EN to ES.

If you have original content in different languages and you would like to connect them, then you can only do this, as long the content that you are trying to connect is not translated.

If a translation exists, then you should delete it or if a translation job is still in progress, then you need to cancel it.

The following English tours are already been translated into French:

MARRAKECH TO FES 4 DAYS DESERT TOUR (translated with WPML Translation Editor)
MARRAKECH TO MERZOUGA DESERT TOUR 3 DAYS (translated with WordPress Editor)

This is why you see a pencil icon under the French flag when viewing the English tours.

---

The following content was originally created in French:

-Circuit partagé de Marrakech à Fès dans le désert- 149€

The issue is that there is already a running translation from FR to ES inside the WordPress Editor.
So what you need to do is connect the English content with the French one, as the French content is already acting as original content.

There is already original English content that has been translated into Spanish, just in this case with the WPML Translation Editor:

- SHARED MARRAKECH TO FES DESERT TOUR – 149€

I would suggest you delete this translation and then connect the English Tour with the French Tour while letting the French content act as original content, as it already has a translation for Spanish.

I am really sorry to see that translating the content is giving you a hard time, but so far it seems to me that your issue is workflow-related.

Please let me know if the issue is still unclear to you.

Best regards
Andreas
