Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.
I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please backup your database and website ❌
✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
Thanks for the access details. I updated the WPML CMS and String Translations plugins to the latest versions.
After that, I added the provided account as a translator and tried to update the home page translation, which worked correctly. (Kindly check the attached screenshot)
Would you please let me know the steps to reproduce the issue?
After translating the page, when I go to the original page where it asks me to update, there most of the time I get this error message. I got it when clicking on the pencil also just before the page on the screenshot above appears.
If the issue still happens on the live site, please try the following steps:
1- Go to WPML-> Translation Management-> Translators tab
2- Make sure that your account is set as a translator with the correct language pairs
3- Edit the page in the default language
4- Add "V2" to the title and update the page
5- Remove the "V2" and update the page
6- Click on the update translation icon and check if the editor will open correctly
