The theme options fields are overwritten

herveJ-2	We have a site in 2 languages FR + NL. We have a Theme Options section with ACF fields in WordPress. We noticed following a modification in the NL version of the Theme Options fields in NL that the NL has overwritten the FR. All ACF fields in the Theme Options are "Translatable" as recommended. Bobby Supporter Languages: English (English ) Timezone: America/Los_Angeles (GMT-08:00)	Hi there, If you go to WPML->Settings->Custom fields you can look up the exact field that is being overwritten. Are you able to locate it and verify it's set to "Translate" instead of "copy" ? Are those global theme options OR just for a specific page?

herveJ-2	Hi Bobby, thanks for the reply. When i go to WPML->Settings->Custom fields - i can't the fin the fields that are overwritten : hidden link but when I go to the menu "Custom fields" - I can see that the field is in "Translate": hidden link The fields i'm talking about are global theme options. Bobby Supporter Languages: English (English ) Timezone: America/Los_Angeles (GMT-08:00)	Go to WPML->String Translation-> search for the custom field and also search for the option you select in the theme settings. Are you getting any results there?

(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible) Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/ You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it. NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin. Thank you, Bobby

Please go to WPML->Settings->Post Types Translation->Field Groups -> these need to be set to "Not Translatable" and are set to "Translate" at the moment. Once that is fixed then verify that the fields in theme settings are correctly set per field (like shown in your screenshot) and test again. Also, please upgrade WPML and it's add-ons to their latest version before testing again Let me know your results, please.

herveJ-2	Hi Bobby, we did some tests, if we set the "Field Groups" to "Not Translatable" - The system imports the NL field groups to FR - They are duplicated. Do you have a solution to avoid this?

Bobby Supporter Languages: English (English ) Timezone: America/Los_Angeles (GMT-08:00)	Hi there, The Fied Groups by default should be set to "Not Translatable", there should only be one field group created and within the field group, you can control each acf field to set it as either translatable, copy, copy once, or not translatable. If possible share with me some more information on the issue you experience with the groups set to "not translatable". It looks like this is a different site from the one I have access in at the moment. I have access for hidden link Based on the screenshots, it looks like you will need to go to Custom Fields and delete any duplicate ones. Before when the field groups were set to 'translatable' you were able to add a translation, meaning that now that they are set to "not translatable" these translations will display in the default language as duplicates and should be removed.
