[Resolved] translated pages losing the page format settings
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: If you're experiencing issues where the menu bar on your French pages scrolls over the text, or when edits made to a page cause loss of format settings on the translated page, we have identified solutions. Solution: For the issue of losing format settings after translating edits, we recommend adjusting the translation settings for your Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). Specifically, navigate to ACF > Field Groups and locate the 'Hero 1' field group. Change the translation preference to 'Expert' mode at the top of the page. Then, find the 'settings' custom field and set the 'Translation preferences' to 'copy'. After making these changes, return to the original version of your page, make any necessary edits, and update it. This should ensure that the settings carry over correctly when the page is retranslated.
If these solutions do not resolve your issues, or if they seem outdated, please check the related known issues and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, we highly recommend opening a new support ticket with us for further assistance. You can do so at WPML support forum.

I edited each translated page and set the settings back to what they should be manually. I am hoping I do not need do that every time we make a minor change though.
Not sure if this helps or not, but when the pages were originally created through the automatic translation page, none of those settings carried over and I had to manually update each page prior to publishing it.
Thank you for responding. Could you please reproduce the issue on our sandbox site at hidden link ? This will allow me to escalate the matter to our 2nd Tier Support. Feel free to install the necessary theme and plugins needed to replicate the issue on the sandbox site.
sorry for the delay - I am trying to get the theme we use loaded but for some reason it is not coming up to add. I am trying to figure out why that is.
in talking with the third party that developed our site, the theme is a custom built theme and therefore is not a plug in that I can add to the sandbox you provided.
I regret any inconvenience caused, but to proceed with troubleshooting, I kindly ask for a snapshot of the site. Alternatively, with your permission, I can create one myself. For this purpose, I typically recommend using the free plugin "Duplicator." If you're already familiar with Duplicator (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/), please skip the following steps and simply send me the archive file you downloaded.
To guide you further, please adhere to these instructions:
1. View the Duplicator instructions video: hidden link
3. If the archive file exceeds 400MB, please use Duplicator's file filters to exclude cache, wp-uploads directory, media, and archive files.
Once you have the archive file ready, kindly share the link with us. You can utilize platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar for file sharing, as the snapshot file might be large.
Please note that your next reply will be private, visible only to you and me. You can paste the file link there. Rest assured that once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local site.
