This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to preview or update posts in both the original French and the English translation after creating a translation using WPML. They encountered a 403 error, which persisted even after deactivating all plugins except for essential ones. The issue was linked to the 'aioseo' plugin triggering Apache's mod_security 'critical' alerts, which blocked the capability to save a post.
Solution:
We recommended deactivating all plugins except for the WPML ones to check if the issue persists. The client discovered that the 'aioseo' plugin was the cause of the 403 errors. Disabling or adjusting the settings of the 'aioseo' plugin should resolve the issue.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at our support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate and edit my posts and pages using WPML. However, as soon as a translation is created, I can no longer preview or update these posts, whether it's the original French or the English translation. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Symptoms:
I encounter a 403 error on both languages once a duplicate exists. Instead of being able to edit the content, I get the initial duplicate from the French version.

Questions:
Why am I getting a 403 error when trying to edit translations?
How can I resolve the issue of not being able to preview or update translated posts?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

If you deactivate all plugins, except the WPML ones, does the issue persist?

Regards,
Carlos

I could deactivate all the plugins (apart from Essential Grid, Revolution Slider, Blubbry, Classic Editor, Contact form 7, Envato Market, WP Bakery, WP907 Core that are needed on our website) and the issue is still there.

So apparently, the issue was related to the “aioseo” plugin triggering Apache’s mod_security ‘critical’ alerts and blocking the capability to save a post (OWASP standard rules)

I'm glad you found the culprit.

Is there anything else I can help you with related to the translation of the site?
