This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where the filter values in the left column on their WooCommerce site are not translated into Greek, despite having translated them in String Translation. The filter headers are translated correctly, but the values (e.g., chains, charms) remain in English. The filters are from ACF fields and displayed on the frontend with the WBW Product Filter widget.

Solution:
We first acknowledged that the WBW Product Filter plugin is not on our list of officially compatible plugins, which could lead to issues. We then suggested:
1. Checking if the ACF field format includes both a value and a label, as this might help in displaying the correct translations.
2. Considering the use of officially compatible plugins for filtering, which can be found on our compatible plugins list.
3. For attributes, we recommended possibly using WooCommerce global attributes instead of ACF and translating them accordingly. Helpful documentation can be found here:

4. We also advised contacting the plugin author for a potential solution and inviting them to join our GoGlobal program at GoGlobal, where we offer assistance to make plugins compatible.

If this solution is not relevant to your case, either because it's outdated or not applicable, we highly recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket in our support forum.

I have translate the ACF Field Group "Attributes" with id 319 and I use it in product categories.

This is an example URL: hidden link

Could you check it please and inform me if I have to do something more?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Hi,

Welcome to the WPML support forum. Thanks for contacting us.

We are currently handling a high amount of ticket and while waiting for one of my colleagues to help with this ticket, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.

We would need your WPML debug information.
Ref: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

In short:
- Go to "WPML > Support > Debug Information" (link)
- Copy the Debug Information from there.
- Find the private field I activated and paste that information.

---

Now when it comes to ACF fields, setting up translation preferences can be tricky. So, let's start by reviewing your configuration:
- In "WPML > Settings > Post Types Translation" the translation preference for "Field Groups (acf-field-group)" should be "Not translatable".
Ref: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/#translating-field-groups

- When you edit your ACF groups in the default language, this is where you determine the translation preference for each field. Here we are talking about the translation of the field value in "Custom Fields > Field groups".

We have 3 multilingual configuration options:
- Same fields in all languages > Used in most cases.
- Different fields in all languages > Only if you want completely different fields between your languages and you use the WordPress editor
- Expert Mode > Which allows you to choose the translation preference for each field
Be careful though because certain fields must have particular preferences. For example, "Copy" for the special fields "Repeater" and "Flexible". Please read our documentation: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/recommended-custom-fields-translation-preferences-for-acf-and-wpml/

I would recommend to start with "Same fields across languages" and move to "Expert" only if you need to make some adjustments.

Hello,

thanks for getting back.

Can you please explain what exactly are you adding to categories and what is correct behavior on default language and what is wrong on 2nd? This way I can understand the issue better.

You can also share with us some screenshots or videos.

Thanks,
Drazen

In the link I sent you before the english version is ok. But when I go in greek language, the filters in the left column, have problem. The headers of the filters are ok (eg. Kind, Color, Material, etc) but the values are not translated (eg. chains, charms, etc). I have already translated all of them and I can't find something to translate about them in String Translation.

I send you also two ss (one in english and one in greek).

Hello,

thanks for getting back.

Can you please explain how is this related to ACF fields and how are you adding these filter titles in default language? Is this something you set in widget or?

Regards,
Drazen

The filters in left column are from ACF fields and it's imported in the frontend with a widget WBW Product Filter. The filter titles I have translated via String Translation. I found them there at domain "woo-product-filter".

Hello,

thanks for the additional info, I understand now.

Please note WBW Product Filter is not officially on our compatible plugins list so some issues may happen.

Let me have a look and check further and try to fix the issue for you. Please share admin access to the next private reply box. Please make a backup before proceeding.

Hello,

thanks for getting back.

I checked and tried to fix it by adding in ACF's next format:

For more control, you may specify both a value and label like this:
red : Red

But it seems the plugin filter is taking always ACF value not label. Since it is not officially compatible some other issues may occur.

I suggest using official compatible plugins: https://wpml.org/plugin/, search for filter.

For your attributes, not sure if you need ACF you can simply create the same function with regular WooCommerce global attributes and just translate them.

Hope this workaround and suggestion are helpful to you. As for plugins I advise also checking with the plugin author maybe they have a solution and invite them to our GoGlobal (https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/), we will be glad to help.

Let me know if my suggestions are helpful or if there is anything more I can do for you.

Regards,
Drazen
