Tell us what you are trying to do?

i have 3 languages, English, French and Thai. But I think the French and Thai can not optimised in Google and there is no robots.txt. So I want to put them in subdmain like fr.thailawonline.com and th.thailawonline.com

Also right now, there is only ONE LANGUAGE bar, at the bottom, not clear. I want another one on top, very clear, people will see.

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Yes, instructions on your website.

Is there a similar example that we can see?

Got info from your website.

What is the link to your site?

hidden link

I made a user WPML. I can give you password easily.

While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with first debugging steps or if I can perhaps help with the issue quickly. You left the chat which is why it got disconnected. Supporters don't have the option to automatically close a ticket since it wasn't assigned to them, which is why I asked you to close the ticket from your end so that we could have continued in chat.

To set up different domains per language, you can follow the documentation here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/

To add a language switcher to the top of your site, you can add it in the menu, or you can insert it as a widget depending on your theme options, or you can use custom code to insert it into your theme files where you want it. The documentation here can walk you through these steps: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/

1) I am not sure you understand, even finding your support is difficult and like hidden.
2) I said you should have my ticket and while searching for it, you got it. So I was right. Why did you ask me my ticket if you can find it.
3) I played hours to add a language bar and I am not able. I do not need to read an article, I paid a lot for services and I expect it works ans it will take you 2 minutes.
4) as for your info about the subdomains, it explains nothing, I had to go to my server, create subdomain, I do not know if I had to install certificate and I did. Not sure if I did correctly but it does not work. Why do you think i am contacting you? Because I have problems. Do you send links that we already read to all clients instead of helping them? I paid hundreds of dollars with WPML, some credits in translation, etc. My site is 2 months old. The French and Thai does not index.

I try to follow the link for subdomains, no chance.
My menu is overcharged, I would lie a language bar separately.

If it is so so simple to add subdomains for languages, do it. I spent hours and hours, with servers and trying. I have enough.

Your slogan is?!?, satisfaction guaranteed? You even delete the saying i was waiting for 12 hours. It is 4 am in Thailand.

I already answered yesterday. I read these articles and it does not work.
So can you help and not just say the same thing over and over. This is urgent.

Last year, I lost my business, my house. I put everything in this project to bounced back. I spent tons of money in translation and at WPML. Can you put a language bar and make it work in subdomains so google can find the hundreds of articles not indexed now?

Simple. 2 requests. You are support? No? I need help.

Hello sir!

Let me try to help you here.

First of all, the reason why it's taking so long before someone takes the ticket is because you keep writing on it as new replies.

Please don't do that because we have a system that detects different things in tickets and if this ticket appears as more recent, it could have less priority! especially when you leave so many answers.

I understand this is urgent and i'm going to help you out, i'm accessing the site to try to have a better understanding of what you have right now and i'll do my best to guide you through this.

Allow me a moment to check the site and i'll come back with an answer and then i'll go through every question and doubt, fear, etc you had before so we can solve all your problems.

I see you're in india so i'll try to help you first but then i'll transfer you with someone in your timezone so you can have faster answers (Lauren is in the united states, so she's quite far from you and your timezone!)

See you soon!

Ok, i quickly checked your site's configuration and i'll try to walk you through what you can do.

First of all know that if you decide to use subdomains the first step has NOTHING to do with WPML however it's really important that this first step is done correctly or the WPML setup will not work.

here we go:

First we need to create the subdomains
2) Once created make sure they point to the same IP as the original subdomain. if you are creating them from cpanel or a similar service, then you don't have to worry about this step

3) It's very important that you setup your subdomain as an "alias" or "parked domain" of the main domain where WordPress was installed because oherwise things will not work correctly moving forward.

4) You might need to wait up to 48h for the DNS of your subdomain to spread (but most of the time a couple of hours is enough) but you'll know when the process is ready because if you access the subdomain you'll be automatically redirected to the main domain of your site without you having to setup any particular rule.

5) Perfect, so at this point we already know the domain works and it's time to configure it with WPML. you can do so from WPML > Languages ( hidden link )

i created a video that shows you this last part visually, on your site: hidden link

---------------

See, i can see that you actually thought that adding a subdomain was enough, but that's not how domains work, and we do not make the rules there. we can add them and have them working only if the server configuration is correct which is not your case (i checked and you can see it in the video above).

Try it out and then let me know how it goes so we can move on with the other questions and/or complaints you have 🙂

Regards.

First, let me introduce you to customer service 101 : YOU NEVER, NEVER, NEVER put the blame of 1.5 days on your customer's fault. This is basic. If you say that your system do that or that, CHANGE YOUR FUCKING SYSTEM. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT ESPECIALLY IF HE PAYS AND I DID.

Second, if you could have a CHAT SUPPORT that is easy to find, I could have talked to someone but instead the links you sent are link that I TRIED AND IT DOES NOT WORK.

Let me show you your SUPPORT POLICY :
"We’re Here to Help
When you need our support, we will go out of our way to resolve your issues."

And
"Our Plugins and Services Are Our Responsibility
Any issue that occurs within our plugins and services is 100% our responsibility to resolve."

I am trying to simply put the French into fr.thailawonline.com
and Thai into. th.thailawonline.com

Maybe you like to let people HIRE freelancers so you make more money but I spend 300$ in 2-3 months and GOOGLE can NOT index my French and Thai pages!!! That's a big problem? No? Don't you think?

Do you see how you answer me: I SEE THAT YOU ARE IN INDIA....

Hello? My site is THAI Law ONLINE. Maybe I am in Thailand. You are so smart. Unbelievable.

1) I create subdomains.
2) They point at the same address : 35.209.78.196

3) Was a problem. Because the subdomains were created and you can not park a subdomain at my server.

This is your documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/

The work PARKED appears twice. At the end and here:
===================================
Here is what you need to ask your hosting company:

When using separate domains: I want to add a parked domain (alias) to my existing domain. My existing domain is “example.com”. I want to park the “example.de” domain.

When using sub-domains: I want to add the “de.example.com” subdomain to my “example.com” subdomain. It should point to the same location as the main domain.

THE WORD PARKED DOES NOT APPEAR IN SUBDOMAIN. Do you know now why I was given BAD INFORMATION and could not do it?

Please correct your page to make it clearer and explain that sometimes, when subdomains are created, you can NOT parked them and need to DELETE them to recreate and PARKED.

4) Now I need to wait few hours.

Unbelievable to you put the blame on me, that you say it is my fault because your system works a certain way, that you believe I am in India like you know everything and I am not in india and that you PAGE that YOUR STAFF sent me does NOT talk about PARKED SUBDOMAINS but only DOMAINS.

ThaiLawOnline. Guess what is my job? I am a lawyer. You should PAY ME FOR losing my time and being incompetent and putting this on my fault. THIS IS DISGRACEFUL.

And no, English is not my first language I am French Canadian from Montreal living in Thailand. I had a computer in 1981. You were probably not born. I had up to 80 websites at one point.

YOUR EXPLANATIONS WERE NOT CLEAR AND I LOST MY TIME.

Hello,

1) I'm the support manager and i totally understand your concerns. however, I won't tolerate any bad behaviour or swearing on this forum. I totally understand your frustration but we're civilzed people so let's keep it PG, please.

2) You have spent most of the ticket saying that we are blaming things on you when we aren't and i apologize if anything we wrote gave you that impression.

3) I understand the entire problem at the moment seems to stem from the fact that "subdomain" is different from "domain" but the feature in WPML was actually meant for different domains, that's why we always mention "domains", even though the documentation actually mentions that the subdomains can be used too.

your concern and suggestions about the "parked" word not used in the subdomain sentece are duly noted and have been sent to our documentation team.

By the way, the reason why it's not written as you expected is because a lot of hosting companies actually say it's not possible to park a subdomain, but when asked as we suggest in the documentation, they understand what the user wants to achieve and do it. that sentence that you are mentioning starts with the following for the same reason:

This is something that the company that sold you the domain should do for you.

Here is what you need to ask your hosting company:

Of course you're welcome to do it yourself if you please and if you know what to do, but most of our clients do not understand how these things work nor they want to and the hosting support exists to help them in these server-related situations 🙂

------------------

Please let me know how it goes, however know that i'm already 2h past my shift and into my weekend so if you want to continue with someone else, then let me know and i'll reassign the ticket, otherwise we can continue on monday.

I'm confident that if you follow my steps you should be fine.

Regards.
