Background of the issue:
I am trying to use the Advanced Translation Editor for manual translations, but it is not working as expected. I have tried translating fields and saving them, but the translation does not reach 100%. Additionally, I attempted to translate only the page name, SEO title, and Meta Description by emptying the body text of the original page. However, the translated page is not linked to the original. I also tried using the 'Translate Link Targets' function, but it does not work properly. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
1. The Advanced Translation Editor does not indicate which parts are missing for a complete translation, and it jumps between fields, making it hard to track progress. 2. The translated page is not connected to the original, and the 'is translation of' function does not find the original page. 3. The 'Translate Link Targets' function times out after approximately 2 hours without completing the task.

Questions:
Why does the Advanced Translation Editor not show which parts are missing for a complete translation?
How can I connect the translated page to the original when the 'is translation of' function does not find the original page?
Why does the 'Translate Link Targets' function time out, and how can I select specific parts for translation?
And why does your support page modify my text, leaving out important parts of my request, after I took 10 minutes to describe the problem in detail???

I would much rather use the default Classic WordPress editor to translate my content, but that option is not available any more it seems?

Hello,

To connect content please follow this guide:
https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-link-already-translated-pages/

To manually translate content with the WordPress Editor, please follow this guide:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Take note, that you can not use the WPML Translation Editor and the WordPress Editor simultaneously.

If you would like me to take a look into why the Advanced Translation Editor is behaving oddly on your site, please let me know.

Best regards
Andreas

...and this is exactly why it makes no sense for your support page to shorten my request. Thanks to the way the ticket system works, I have to re-write most of the details I gave you about my issue.

Please look at the specific questions above. You have not answered a single one of them.

about connecting content: I know how this works, but as I explained in detail, the function to connect the existing translation is NOT working - the English original page cannot be found in the popup window.
Also deleted from my original text: Why is it that I translate a page (starting by clicking the + icon in the English pages list), then save it, but after I do, the icon on the English pages overview is still a +, and the translation is not saved?

And re: use of advanced translator: is there usually an indication when a text part has been translated and saved?
