Background of the issue:
I am working on a site and have been in contact with WPML support before, specifically with Carlos Rojas, regarding an issue with automatic translation. The ticket had the same name as my current issue.

Symptoms:
After automatic translation, internal links redirect to the original language instead of the translated one. The last tip I received did not resolve the issue.

Questions:
Why do internal links redirect to the original language after automatic translation?
What steps can I take to ensure links point to the translated pages?

Hi,

I've checked things on your site regarding the links issue.
I wanted to check things on WPML -> Translation Management. However, when I attempt to access it, I encounter a fatal error. Please see the attached screenshot. There is a deeper issue on your site that we need to investigate. We must debug this issue on our servers. Please allow me to take a copy of your site. For this, I must install a plugin like Duplicator or All In One Migration. Please let me know if you agree.

I created a package of your site with the Duplicator Pro plugin and downloaded it to my computer. I then deleted the package and the Duplicator Pro plugin from your site. We will investigate this issue and get back to you.

Hi,

I'm sorry I tried to work with the copy of your site on my local server but it is giving a lot of errors and I can't work with it.

I consulted our second-tier supporter about your case, and what we want to know is the fatal error that occurs when giong to WPML -> Translation Management.

Can you please share with us WordPress's debug log (not WPML debug information).
Please check this page for instructions.

To enable it, open your wp-config.php file and look for

define('WP_DEBUG', false);

Change it to:

define('WP_DEBUG', true);
// Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
// Disable display of errors and warnings
define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);
@ini_set('display_errors', 0);

After this, repeat the action that causes the problem on your site-- visit WPML -> Translation Management. The errors will be saved to a debug.log log file inside the /wp-content/ directory. Then please share the errors with us. Please only share the error from the time you visited WPML -> Translation Management.
