Hi Waleed,
Thanks for contacting WPML support.

I see that the issue happens only in one section (Under the Chips tab), please check here: hidden link

I checked some of the products under this tab, but all of them are showing "404 Not Found" in the secondary language.

- hidden link

Please go to WooCommerce > WooCommerce Multilingual > Products tab, and translate those products then check again if the issue is resolved.

Kind regards,
Mohamed

No, First of all
1. It is happening in more than one section in the Arabic version of the website and ...
2. About the 404 issue that should happen because we made a choice in WPML - Settings - Post Types Translation - use translation if available or fallback to default language.

So why are the 404 appearing and why aren't the products appearing in the Arabic Home page?

Hi,

This is expected when using the "Translatable
use translation if available or fallback to default language" option for a post type with translated taxonomies.

This is because all the products will be associated with the default language taxonomies because this translation option doesn’t create any posts in the second language. This means that if you translate the taxonomies there will be no products associated with them.

Please check the following documentation for more details: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/#how-to-display-untranslated-taxonomy-values-as-a-fallback

So kindly translate those products or duplicate them as described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/#how-to-duplicate-pages-and-posts-in-bulk

Then check if the issue is resolved.

Hi,

You still see the issue with products under the "Chips" category because the products are not translated yet.

I tested duplicating a few products and they're showing on the Arabic version now as you can see in the following screenshots:

- hidden link
- hidden link

As I mentioned, this is expected when you translate the product categories and set the products to the "Translatable - use translation if available or fallback to default language" option. The untranslated products won't show up under the translated categories because the products don't exist.

Kindly translate the missing products or duplicate them in bulk as described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/#how-to-duplicate-pages-and-posts-in-bulk

Then you should be able to see them on the Arabic version.

Kind regards.

Hi, Is there any way to make them show even they're not being translated?

August 16, 2023 at 1:51 pm #14236601

Mohamed Sayed

You can use the duplicate option instead of translating the products, this option will create a copy of the original product in the secondary language.

You can duplicate them individually from the product editing screen or in bulk using WPML's Translation Management (Please check the attached screenshots)

We know this trick. But it should work without it because as you can see on our homepage we have product that are now listed without being duplicated that as also listed on our main page. Screenshot is attached. We also have other websites where it lists products in English when there is no Arabic translation. This function should be working it was working fine before I created the ticket.

Hi.

Since Mohamed currently has a few days off, I will replace him here in the forum. I hope this is OK for you.

I checked your site, and this is the expected behavior hence the categories are translated while the products are not, so the translated categories don't have the same product count. (Kindly check the attached screenshot)

In order to fix this, please duplicate/translate the missing products so the filter reads the products correctly in both languages.

Alternatively, you can delete the few translated items in the Chips category, clear the site's and server cache, then check the issue.

Best regards,
Osama
