If I change the alignment on a buttons block in my original language and do no other changes - the previously translated anchor links will be copied from the original. Is this a bug? |

Found some more details. I have two pages with a buttons block at the top with anchor links to headlines with id, e.g. #headline. If I change the orientation of the buttons block on one page, WPML will automatically apply the orientation change on the translation - but links will revert to a copy of the original. If I edit in ATE, the buttons and their links are shown there. After saving ATE, the links are still wrong in the translated page content. On the other page changing orientation the Language metabox will indicate that the translation needs update in ATE. Updating the translation does NOT revert the anchor links. |

Hello, Yes, design changes usually apply globally, while page settings are usually copied over to the translation. If you need different designs per language, you might need to consider setting the "WordPress Editor" as a translation method. Best regards |

Hello Andreas. I may have not described my issue accurately. I do not want different designs per language. My issue is that when I make a design-only change to the buttons on one of my originals, that propagates automatically to the translation - like I want it to. What I do not want, is the translated anchor links on the buttons to revert to that of the original - which they do on one of my pages. |

You do only edit the original content inside the WordPress Editor and save the content, without updating the translation? If so, it might be that WPML copies the settings over to the translation once the original content is saved. You are using a button block that is coming from WordPress, or is it coming from an addon? Can you please try to replicate the issue with a simple example on the following sandbox? One-Click-Login: Make sure to leave me a comment once you are done with this task. |

Hi Andreas. Unfortunately I was not able to replicate the issue in the sandbox. I added XML configuration for translating heading ID and modified the "Hellow world" post with a button link to a headline and translated. However, if I change the style of the button on the original - the translation is shown as "Update" so to me it looks like WPML did not pick it up as a style only change. Thus the links are not overwritten automatically. The anchor links that are overwritten in my own site are standard WordPress button blocks that they are nested inside GenerateBlocks containers - if that matters. |

Thank you for your cooperation! The issue might be content-related. The WPML String Translation Plugin was not yet enabled on the Sandbox. I also installed Generate Blocks. In case GenerateBlocks Pro is needed, please add it to the sandbox. Then, please import your page(s) using Tools > Export on your site and Tools> Import on the sandbox. Leave me a comment once you are done with this task. |

Hi again. I imported my post but couldn't manage to connect the original Insikter (swedish) with the translation Insights (english). Based on advise from your chat bot I added the following XML to my staging site. <gutenberg-block type="core/button" translate="1"> This seems to have stopped the issue (translated links reverted on style change in original). I don't have this particular XML in the sandbox. What are your thoughts on this? |

Usually, you can connect those pages now. Guide: Somehow, this does not work out in this example. I simply deleted the English page and created a new translation. Could you please provide me with detailed steps on how to replicate the issue? For example, on the original page, I have set the button alignment to space between, but this does not affect the translation on this test. At this point, you need to update the translation first. |

Unfortunately I do not have the steps to reproduce it from scratch. In the sandbox I saw the same behaviour as you - that a style change on the buttons requires the translation to be updated in ATE. In my staging site I have one page that automatically updates the style in the translation but overwrites the button links with same as the original. Can I send you a private message with login and instructions to my staging site? |

Sure, please provide me with admin access to the site to take a closer look at the issue. What you explain is expected behavior. Does this mean the issue does currently not occur on the staging site? |

Apologies, step 9 under Today is a bit unclear. At that point (after saving ATE), orentation change is applied, but links are reverted to a copy of the original instead of being set to the translations specified in ATE. I still have issues with the links in staging site. Just not in exactly the same way as when I opened the ticket. Before the links in the translation reverted directly after saving the original. Now they revert after updating the translation in ATE. |

Hello, I would be happy to take a closer look at this. Please name me the URL of the original content, so that I can locate it easily. I'd like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate the issue further. You'll find the necessary fields below the comment section if you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide will be private, meaning only you and I will be able to see and access it. IMPORTANT If you don't see the "wp-admin / FTP" fields, your login credentials for the post and website will be set to "PUBLIC." Do NOT publish the information unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields. The private reply form looks like this: When replying again, click "I still need assistance".
