Hello, this morning I had a chat with your support for the following reason.
We want to translate our site pages from italian to english etc., but don't want to translate images. We want every translated pages to use the original images. This way, every time we change an image on an original page, all the corresponding translated pages in all the languages, will automatically update the old image with the new one.
You told us that in order to get that, it is enough to use the default WPML settings, and use the WPML editor to translate the pages.
So we tried this way and created some pages in italian using some test images. Then we translated them in english, etc, and after that we changed the images in the original (italian) pages. The problem is that the images on the translated pages have not been updated with the new images.
As you can see here: hidden link
there is the original (italian) page with the new changed image.
And here: hidden link
there is the translated page, showing the old image. So, that image has not been updated automatically when we changed it on the original (italian) page.
You can see the media WPML settings we use,
in the attached file.
Please, let us know what to do in order to get the results we described.
Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.
After changing the image on the original page, you also need to update the translation page. Just make a small change to the page title/content and update the translation.
