[Resolved] Avada Gallery element is not set correct after translated
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
I am trying to translate a page from English to Chinese. I expected to see the masonry gallery exactly the same both on the original and translated page.
Solution:
Edit each image of the Masonry Gallery through Dashboard → Media library (in list view). Open one of the images, and check the value of the Masonry Image Layout option at the bottom of the page. Now, change the language using the top admin language selector and make sure that this custom field has the same value. Once you did this, just simply update the image and that's all.
Just make sure that you did this for all the images of the masonry gallery.
the Avada authors suggested making some sort of change on the image used in the gallery. Can you try to reach out to the theme authors too and ask them about this change, please?
Also, it would be great if you could share the change here too, so other users can find the solution.
I read the original post - and was not able to figure it out how original author solved it.
How can I reach the original author (my first posting on this forum)?
Can you give me access to the dashboard area so I can have a closer look at this gallery and see what's going on and check what's missing from the translated page, please?
The next reply is set to be private so you can safely send me the credentials.
I had a look at the Avada documentation here: hidden link
In this case, I had to edit each image from the masonry gallery from here: hidden link
like this one, for example: hidden link
change the language using the top admin bar to Spanish: hidden link
and make sure that the value of the Masonry Image Layout option at the bottom of the page is the same one as in English. This is a custom value added by the Avada theme and it seems that it's needed for the masonry gallery.
I was able to find the custom field that stores this value, and set it to be copied. I'm not sure if it's gonna work and help you skip these steps of changing the value of the custom field manually (as I presented). I don't know how the Avada theme handles this field so that's why I said that I'm not 100% sure if this is gonna work.
However, just as a test, please create a new portfolio post, with a masonry gallery on it, and add new images to the gallery. Can you tell me if the masonry layout is working fine when you add the Spanish translation, please?
