philipv-13	Hi, Is there any documentation that you are follow. I have a site that is hidden link with a Google translate plugin. So we want to make the different language websites with WMPL. So by installing WPML I come to the step to make a choice: Or Different languages in directories Holandés: hidden link A different domain per language Language name added as a parameter Holandés: hidden link What would be the best choice for SEO? Thanks.

philipv-13	Hi Bruno, Thanks for your answer. So I understand that using a language folder is the best way to do this. So I can choose this option in WPML. But what other things should be done? Are there things that should be done on server level? Or any configuration? Do you have some information on that what the steps are? Thanks.

Bruno Kos WPML Supporter since 12/2018 Languages: English (English ) German (Deutsch ) French (Français ) Timezone: Europe/Zagreb (GMT+02:00)	Typically you only need to activate pretty permalinks in WordPress (so anything other than default permalinks) and that should do. Sometimes this may be needed, but this is generally rare: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/cannot-activate-language-directories/ You may also want to check this for all the options it offers: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/directory-default-language/

philipv-13	Hi Bruno, So if I understand corretly I only have to choose the option: different languages in directories in WPML? What do you mean to activate pretty permalinks? Is the option by settinhs and permalinks? It's now set on post name. And you gave a link for setting up a a root page? But is this necassary? Kind regards,

As for the root pages, you don't have to use it but in case you do, the document will show you additional options.
