This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where the page https://productdepartment.nl/en/product-blog/ displays a 'No results found' message, and they want to either not show this page at all or have the projects translated into English.

Solution:
We recommend two options:
1) Translate the Project posts into the English language.

OR

2) Use the default language as a fallback for untranslated content for the 'Projecten(project)' Post Type. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Take a full site backup.
  • Go to WPML>>Settings>>Post Type Translation.
  • Select 'Translatable – use translation if available or fallback to default language' for the 'Projecten(project)' Post Type.
  • Save the changes.
  • Navigate to Settings>>Permalinks and resave the settings.
  • Clear all types of caches.

For more details, please refer to this article: Displaying Untranslated Content on Pages in Secondary Languages.

Additionally, if you are listing Project Posts using Project Category terms, ensure you also choose the 'Translatable – use translation if available or fallback to default language' option for the 'Project Categories' from WPML>>Settings>>Taxonomy Translation.

To make no further mistakes, right now when you go to hidden link it says 'No results' found. The client doesn't want this message. So the only solution is to OR don't show this page at all, OR translate the projects into English?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Martijn,

Welcome to the WPML support forum. I will do my best to help you resolve the issue.

There are two options you can consider for this. Please read the following and let us know your feedback.

1) Translate the Project posts into the English language

Or

2) Choose the *Using the default language as a fallback for untranslated content* option for the *Projecten(project)* Post Type. So the default language posts will be listed in the secondary language without content duplication or translation. You can try the following steps for that.

a) Take a full site backup
b) Visit WPML>>Settings>>Post Type Translation
c) Choose *Translatable – use translation if available or fallback to default language* option for the *Projecten(project)* Post Type
d) Save the changes
e) Visit Settings>>Permalinks and resave the settings
f) Clear all types of caches

Please refer to the attached image and this article for more details - https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/

I tried option 2, saved, saved permalinks, cleared cache, also checked it in an incognito window, but somehow it did no do anything?
Still the 'No results found' is shown at hidden link and in In WordPress itself the English version of Projects is still empty?

Hi Martijn,

Thank you for the updates. You are listing the Project Posts using Project Category terms. It works as expected after choosing the *Translatable – use translation if available or fallback to default language* option for the *Project Categories* from WPML>>Settings>>Taxonomy Translation. Please check the attached images for more details and let us know your feedback.
