we are having issues with the media Library in one translated language (Englisch).
-> The media Library in one translated languages doesn't work. There are no files, just the meta data.
The page is a subpage in the WordPress Multisite environment: hidden link
-> The issue is just appering in one language of one subsite.
We are using the SEOPress Plugin as well as WPML. (Since you have a partnership with SEOPress, I hope you can help us (https://wpml.org/plugin/seopress/)
If SEOPress is deactivated, everything works fine and the URLs look like this: "hidden link"
If SEOPress is active, the issue occurs and the URL changes to: "https://cdn.wpml.org/2022/09/shutterstock_213980653_4000.jpg"
Keeping SEOPress deactivated isn't a solution for us.
I understand the issue you're having and will try my best to assist you in this matter.
As far as I know, the SEOPress plugin has a specific feature that manages site images. Could you please check what happens when you keep that feature deactivated?
- Please go to "SEO > Advanced > Image SEO"
- Beside the "Image SEO & Advanced settings" option, you'll see a switch to enable/disable that option. Keep that option disabled.
- Now, go to "Settings > General" and ensure that the WordPress and Site URL is configured properly
- Clear the caches from your site and server and check again. You can consult with the hosting administrator regarding clearing the server-side caches.
Please let me know the update. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.
Thank you for your reply on this and for the assistance.
Let me mention again, that the issue is just ocurin in one language (englisch - not default)
- I already tried to deactivate all the single SEOPress features one by one to narrow down the error. But I tried again. This didn't helped.
- Since we are using a WordPress multisite and the WPML option "A different domain per language" (s. Screenshot) there are no URL settings in the "Settings -> General" page.
- I also Cleared all caches (Server and Browser) - that din't helped too.
Is there anything else you can advice to us?
We are really happie if, because this is blocking us from bringing this site live.
Hello Tobi,
Thank you for taking the time to test and share the updates.
Since you're using different domains per language and the issue is only happening in one of the secondary languages, please try the following and check if the helps to solve the issue.
- Make sure you're logged into the primary domain.
- From your WordPress Dashboard, Go to "WPML > Languages"
- Scroll down to the "Language URL Format" section
- Under the "Different domain per language" option, you'll see an option named "Auto Sign-in and Sign-out users from all domains". Enable that option.
- Save the changes and resave the permalink structure as instructed.
- Once you save the permalink structure, log out from the site.
- Sign back into your site again. The purpose of this is to propagate the cookie and other necessary information properly to the other domains.
- Switch to the English language and check if the image is showing properly or not.
Please let me know how it goes. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.
I went to all the steps you mentioned, but the images still are not show up.
To be sure: With "esave the permalink structure as instructed" you just mean, that I shiould go to the "settings -> Permalink Page" and klick on "Save" without changing anything, right?
Exactly! That's what I'm referring to. If the problem continues even after re-saving the permalink structure and re-logging into the site, a closer inspection will be required to understand the root cause of the issue.
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.
You will find the needed fields below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.
IMPORTANT
-Please backup site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link
Looking forward to your response.
Best Regards,
Prosenjit
