Tell us what you are trying to do?

We found out we can only change the canonical of our translated pages to be correct by using manual translation.

Currently our site has a mix of translated pages, duplicated pages and not translated pages.

I have started this, but realised the result was pages showing the green 'translated' icon, not the duplicated icon.

So I want to confirm the correct course of action please.

What are the steps I need to take to make it so each page is manually translated, uses the WP editor and gives me access to yoast to change the canonical please?

Is there any documentation that you are following?

I was trying to use this, but I think it is for creating new pages manually, not existing ones https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/#how-to-use-manual-translation

Is there a similar example that we can see?

No

What is the link to your site?

Hi there,
Thanks for contacting WPML support.

To switch the translations to the WordPress editor, please create a full backup of the database and website then try the following steps:

For Duplicated pages:

1. Edit the page in the default language
2. In the language box, switch to "WordPress Editor"
3. In the pop-up dialog that appears, select "This page"
4. Click the Pencil icon to edit the translation
5. When editing the duplicated page, click "Translate independently" in the Language box

Please check this recording: hidden link

For translated pages:

1. Edit the page in the default language
2. In the language box, switch to "WordPress Editor"
3. In the pop-up dialog that appears, select "This page"
4. Click the Pencil icon to edit the translation

Please check this recording: hidden link

Let me know please if that helps.

Kind Regards,
Mohamed
