Changing Language COde

thomasF-68	Hello So our old developer setup Japan using the code JP. We need to change it to JA. How can i do this without loosing any of my existing Japanese translations? Thank you in advance

Mohamed Sayed	Hi Thomas, Thanks for contacting WPML support. It's not possible to change the language code for an existing language. So you need to create a new language with the code you want, then to duplicate the content into the new language. Please create a full database and website backup, then follow the steps mentioned here: https://wpml.org/faq/how-can-i-assign-or-change-language-code-to-existing-content/ Regards, Mohamed
