This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues connecting a new domain to their English content. Despite following previous procedures that worked, the domain is not recognized as valid. The client suspects it might be due to differences in hosting environments, as their current host uses a different setup compared to their previous cPanel host.

Solution:
We recommend following the steps in our guide on How to use WPML with different domains per language. Specifically, try unchecking the "Validate on save" option during the setup process to see if this resolves the issue. Additionally, ensure that your server settings are correctly configured as outlined in our guide. To test your server settings:

1. Temporarily deactivate WPML.
2. Visit your English domain directly.
3. Check if the content matches that of your primary site without any redirection.

If the problem persists, it is likely a server configuration issue, not a WPML issue. In this case, please contact Hostinger support for further assistance.

If this solution does not apply to your situation, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need help, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I have issues connecting another domain to my English content. The domain is parked with Hostinger and everything should work, but when I do as I have done before, the domain is not valid.

Symptoms:
The domain is not valid when trying to connect it to my English content.

Questions:
Why is the domain not valid when I try to connect it to my English content?
Is there a specific step I might be missing in the process described in the documentation?

Hi,

Please be sure to follow our guide on How to use WPML with different domains per language.

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/

The validation option might fail in certain cases. Please check if it works when you uncheck the "Validate on save" option.

Other than that, it is about server settings that WPML is not controlling. You must ensure that the server settings are correct according to what we explain in our guide. The test you can do is as follows:

1. Temporarily deactivate WPML.
2. Go to your English domain.
3. If everything is set up correctly on the server, then you should see content exactly as it is on hidden link and there should be no redirection. By no prediction, I mean that in the browser address bar, you should see the English domain, for example, hidden link.

Regards,
Itamar.

I have read this help text. I have installed on double domains before, but this hosting may interfere with WPML? The other one was a "normal" cPanel host.

When I disable WPML I am directed to an image (en.png), not to johanlinder.com. So that did not help.

Is this a hosting issue or a WPML issue?

Hi,

You wrote and asked: "When I disable WPML I am directed to an image (en.png), not to johanlinder.com. So that did not help.

Is this a hosting issue or a WPML issue?"

I don't see an image (en.png)!

However, it is a server configuration issue. If everything had been configured correctly when WPML is deactivated and you go to johanlinder.com, it should stay in this domain (without redirection), and you should see the content on hidden link. You must contact Hostinger support for help with this.

Regards,
Itamar.
