Hello,
When sending an XLIFF to MemoQ we get an error as in the attached doc:
Cannot find language with iso code PH.

I can configure the language codes according to the ones in MemoQ.
Can you explain why do I still get such an error?

(attached are the error and the configuration)

Hello!

I'm checking with our translation service developers because i suspect that the language mapping is different from the one from MemoQ.

You mention that:

I can configure the language codes according to the ones in MemoQ

I can see from your screenshot that you added "FIL" instead of "ph". if you change it to "ph" and try to resend the jobs, does it work?

In the meantime, could you send us your communication log as seen here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/#how-to-send-communication-log-to-the-supporters

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

This is Ahmed Mamdouh from the translation proxy team and I'll help you with this issue.

The issue here is that you are trying to send memoQ a translation file with iso code PH, which is not supported by memoQ.

Also, I wanted to address a potential confusion regarding the use of hreflang and code in our communication and file exchange processes.

Firstly, it's important to clarify that hreflang and code serve different purposes in our operations:

1- Hreflang: Hreflang is typically used for specifying the language and regional targeting of web pages, especially in the context of international SEO and website optimization. It helps search engines understand which language versions of a page to display to users based on their location and language preferences. In our communication and file exchange, we do not use hreflang as it is primarily relevant for web content.

2- Code: In our communication and file exchange, we use codes as a means of identifying and referencing specific files, documents, or data points. Codes are essential for efficiency and accuracy in transmitting and receiving information. They allow us to locate and manage resources effectively within our systems.

To summarize, hreflang is not relevant to our communication and file exchange processes. Instead, we rely on codes to facilitate the smooth transfer of data and information.

So I need you to provide me with 2 things to solve this issue:

1- Project ID: Go to WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting and press "Ctrl + f" and type "icl_translation_projects" and send me a screenshot.

2- A screenshot from the languages page: Go to WPML -> Languages -> Edit Languages and send me a screenshot of this whole page to see the codes configured in the website and make the right mapping for your project.

Best regards,
Ahmed Mamdouh.
