HI,

We added WPML to an Italian site for which we also need an English version. Unfortunately, the design of the English version is not the same and doesn't look right.

We just hid the English version because it looks horrible and the site is already live.

We also found this support question online

https://wpml.org/forums/topic/editing-the-website-in-elementor-after-translation/

but this solution we cannot use it because the option 'Elementor CSS' is not visible in the settings

Hi there

The links you shared didn't work so I can't check your site, but in any case, translating content made with Elementor to should preserve the designs when translated to different languages.

One thing I noted from your debug info is that your server does not have enough available memory, see https://wpml.org/faq/checklist-before-opening-a-ticket-in-wpml-support/#recommended-resources

Please upgrade the available memory to at least 128M (from the current 40M).

Afterwards, try making a minor change to an existing Italian page, then update the translation to English and check whether there are still problems.

(For a guide to translating sites made with Elementor see https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/)

Hi

This is the correct URL, apparently I made a mistake when adding it

You can see the difference between the two versions.

We applied your solution, but it still doesn't work, we duplicated a page for testing, even overwriting the EN version with the IT version always creates the partial layout

it seems to depend on the theme, the page opened in Elementor is clearly seen by assigning the "Elementor" template instead of the default one, only that it returns to default when saving.

Are there any known compatibility issues with the Kadence theme? Because we have an idea that this might be the issue.

I edited your last reply because you included the site login credentials, which would be visible to the public.

Please only share sensitive information when we create a private reply for you to do so.

(I also removed the details of plugins installed etc. because you already shared those when creating the ticket and I have access to those details.)

As for the issue itself, when I compare the two pages

The only design difference I note is that the custom header on the Italian page is missing from the English page, otherwise they look the same.

How are you creating the custom header?

I took a look in the back end of your site but I couldn't see where that custom header comes from.

Hi Nigel

I didn't know these tickets were accessible to anyone. Won't do that again. There is more to the problem than the possible issue with the custom header.

Every page, regardless of the fact whether they have a custom header or not, has issues as you can see by comparing the two pages I linked to above this paragraph.

It looks like WPML specifically messes up the layout of the page.

We cloned a page

And it turns out we cannot save this page as a Full width Elementor template. We overwrote the EN version with the IT version but still we have the problem of the partial layout. Also in Quick Edit mode this is not possible.

I'm clearly missing something, because when I check the links you shared for the Italian and English versions of the same page, they look exactly the same (except for the language of the text).

As for the home page that has the custom header mentioned previously that is missing on the English page, how is that custom header added on the Italian page?
