This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with visitors being directed to sub-directory URLs instead of the correct domain URLs after changing the WPML-Language setting for different domains. Additionally, there are problems with a distorted home page and missing background images when switching to French.
Solution:
After migrating from staging to production please run the WPML troubleshooting options available at WPML > Support > Troubleshooting (Cleanup) > Clear the cache in WPML. This action can help resolve issues inside the Advanced Translation Editor.

If this solution does not resolve issues or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your specific case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket at our support forum.

Hello, I was finally able to get the French links to work properly, meaning to not use /fr/. I had to resave all my translation pages in ATE, clear all my caches several times.

But, all other problems I shared with Andreas remain. Please note that I have no issues on staging, only on the production site one migrated. The video you created was useful to find out what my best options were, but what I need is how to make WPML work as expected.

1) Losing custom translations to automatic ones.

2) French texts on the left of ATE needing to be translated.

3) Non-existing texts popping up in ATE.

4) Cursor moving to a different place when edit in ATE.

5) Live site showing a top banner with the mention "This is a development site" See snapshot below:

I asked you in a previous message if I needed to delete the live site's WPML license key, and you did NOT answer my question. That's the only thing I suspect is causing all my issues.

The license key for the live site used to belong to my previous website. Is there any harm in deleting that license key? And start over with the migration from staging to live?

The license from WPML.ORG will not impact anything about the translations, so you can delete them safely without any issues.

I'm glad you solved the problem with the /FR subdirectory, that's exactly what i suggested on the other ticket, on my latest reply there, hehe.

In the other ticket, I asked if you could allow me access to the site, so could you please do it and we can use that other ticket to handle the other issues you're mentioning.

While answering the other ticket, please add a page that was translated in a way and then it was automatically translated, just 1 URL so I can investigate why that happened.
