This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to disconnect translations from the default language page or post, even after following the steps provided in the WPML documentation.

Solution:
We acknowledged that this was a known issue which has been resolved in the latest version of WPML (v4.6.8). We recommended that the client should first take a backup of their site and then update WPML to the latest version to resolve the issue. The update can be done from the WordPress admin area by navigating to Plugins >> Add New page, clicking the Commercial tab, and then clicking the "Check for updates" button.

I tried the steps introduced on this page many times.
https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-disconnect-translations-from-the-default-language-page-or-post/

But failed to disconnect pages from the original languages.

For example, I'm trying to disconnect/isolate the English language page:
hidden link
with the Chinese language(original) page
hidden link

Aslo I tried posts, pages. Disconnecting fails on all of these trials.

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. It was a known issue and it’s already solved in the latest v4.6.8 of WPML: https://wpml.org/errata/wpml-4-6-7-issue-with-disconnecting-translations/

So, please take a backup of your site and update it to the latest version and see if this resolves your issue.

You can update it from Plugins >> Add New page, click the Commercial tab, and then click the “Check for updates” button. Here is the screenshot for more details:
