This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
After a recent update, you are unable to edit Dutch pages using the Elementor frontend, despite having set up the pages to be translated independently from English.
Solution:
We recommend ensuring that the 'WordPress Editor' is activated before attempting to open your pages in Elementor. This setting is necessary to edit your pages in Elementor when using WPML. For detailed instructions on how to activate the WordPress Editor and use different translation editors for different pages, please visit our documentation: Using Different Translation Editors for Different Pages.

If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your specific case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Additionally, please feel free to open a new support ticket for further assistance at WPML Support Forum.

Background of the issue:
We have always used WPML with English as the default language and Dutch as a second language. We created an English page, then duplicated it to Dutch and set 'translate independently' to translate the Dutch page separate of any English changes. We use Elementor and until last week, we could edit the Dutch pages using the Elementor frontend.

Symptoms:
After an update, we are no longer allowed to edit the Dutch pages using the Elementor frontend.

Questions:
What happened to cause the inability to edit Dutch pages using the Elementor frontend after the update?
How can we use the Elementor frontend to edit Dutch pages again?

Hi,

we are not aware of any issues related to this process. So long the WPML editor is deactivated, you can always open it directly in Elementor.

Please ensure that you activated "WordPress Editor" before opening with Elementor: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/.

Best Regards,
Marcel
