If you're experiencing a similar issue, we recommend you try the following steps:
1. Click on the "loading circle" icon to open the translation.
2. Choose the option to "overwrite content from X language." For detailed instructions, visit this documentation. This will turn the translation into a duplicate.

Alternatively:
1. Click on the "loading circle" icon and then publish the translation.
2. Once published, the translation will become visible, allowing you to delete it.
3. After deletion, make sure to empty the trash to reactivate the option to "duplicate."

Hi Mogens,

Thanks for sharing the screencast; it helped us grasp the issue quickly. 😊

To solve the problem, please follow these steps:

- Click on the "loading circle" icon. This action will open the translation.

- Next, choose the option to "overwrite content from X language." You can find detailed instructions here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/#how-to-convert-a-translation-into-a-duplicate

This process will effectively turn a translation into a duplicate, just like if you had used the "duplicate box."

Alternatively, you can:

- Click on the "loading circle" icon and then publish the translation.
- After publishing, the translation will become visible, allowing you to delete it if needed.
- Once deleted, make sure to empty the trash. This action will reactivate the option to "duplicate."

Please try out these steps and share your results with me

The first system didn't work because it did not offer the option to overwrite. I used the second method and that was fine. Thanks.
