Tell us what you are trying to do?
I'm trying to translate the field values for a flexible field group (on a post), but all of the fields are grayed out on other languages and cannot be edited, apart from on the main language (english)
It is only for a specific field group that the fields are grayed out, the rest work fine
Is there any documentation that you are following?
Based on the screenshot that you shared, you might have configured the custom field as "copy" from the primary language. Could you try editing the custom field and make sure it is set as "Translate"?
I changed the fields from being "Copy once" to "Translate", and the boxes are still grayed out
This doesn't really occur on the other flexible fields, so I'm not sure as to what's going on
I would need to take a closer look at your site. So I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed
Your following answer will be private, which means only you and I have access to it.
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site if required. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
I've checked your "solution" posts here hidden link in a secondary language and I'm able to edit the custom fields without issues and it is not greyed out.
Could you share the URL of the page in question here?
I've changed some of the fields from "Don't translate" to "Copy"
The main issue though, is that the text/wysiwyg fields "Overskrift" and "Indhold" aren't able to be translated, despite being set to "Translate", these are the ones I need to be able to translate, the other ones are supposed to copy from the post of the primary language
I've checked and I could see the issue now. Looks like you have a very complex setup and I will have to escalate this to our 2nd Tier Support for further assistance.
We found a way to still save the translations, by removing read-only from the inputs
So it seems like they are incorrectly getting a read-only attribute added
Could you please tell me which "read-only" option that you're referring to so that I could include this on the report that I'm about to open? It would be best if you could include a screenshot and also the URL of the page in question.
It is on the same post (UnicLine S - DA) - hidden link, in the #12 "Billede break" in "Sektion 1"
I removed the "readonly" attribute from the "Overskrift-wpml3" input field in the inspector, and was able to save the translation, without it getting overwritten when I saved the english post again
I don't think we should do that manually. If it's not too much trouble, could you replicate the issue on our sandbox site here? hidden link . You can install the required plugins and create some test fields or pages.
It would be really helpful if you can replicate it on our sandbox site and if not, I will have to share your Website with our 2nd Tier Support for further checking.
We're looking to launch the site early next week, I'll try to see if you can have it available for testing purposes afterwards (we just copy the site over to a live site)
