This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are experiencing an issue where the WPML plugin cannot connect to wpml.org, which is necessary for checking new releases and security updates. This problem usually occurs when the site URL and the registered site URL differ, for example, with or without 'www'.
Solution:
1. Log in to your WPML.org account and navigate to the Sites page: https://wpml.org/account/sites/
2. Delete the existing site key.
3. Log in to your WordPress site, go to Dashboard >> Plugins >> Add new plugin >> Commercial tab and click the Unregister WPML from this site link if it exists.
4. Click the Register WPML link.
5. Click the Get a key for this site link, generate the key, copy it, and paste it back into the input box, then press the Register button.
6. Take a backup of your site and update WPML plugins to the latest version.
7. If the issue persists, go to WP Dashboard Menu >> Updates and press the "Check again" link.
8. If none of the above steps resolve the issue, please provide a debug report in the Debug Information box. You can find how to add the debug report here: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting a message that the WPML plugin cannot connect to wpml.org. WPML needs to connect to its server to check for new releases and security updates. Something in the network or security settings is preventing this. The site I need help with is hidden link.

Symptoms:

Questions:
Could you help me figure out why the WPML plugin cannot connect to wpml.org?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. This issue usually happens when the site URL and registered site URL are not the same e.g. with www or without www. Could you please delete the existing site key and create a new one by following the below steps:

1. Please login to your WPML.org account >> Go to the Sites page: https://wpml.org/account/sites/
2. Delete the existing site key (if it exists).
3. Please login to your site and go to the Dashboard >> Plugins >> Add new plugin > Commercial tab and click the Unregister WPML from this site link if that link exists.
4. Then please click the Register WPML link.
5. Click the Get a key for this site link.
6. It will generate the Key for your site.
7. Copy the key, and paste it back into the input box, and press the Register button.
8. Then, please take a backup of your site and update WPML plugins to the latest version.

If the “WPML plugin cannot connect to wpml.org” notifications still persists, please try the below procedure:
1. Go to WP Dashboard Menu >> Updates.
2. Press the "Check again" link as you can see in the attached screenshot and see if this resolves the issue.

If the above steps don’t help, please add the debug report in the Debug Information box. I have also enabled debug info box for your next reply: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

Kindly let me know the results,
Thank you
