Durgesh Bang

Background of the issue:
I am planning to remove WPML from my website hidden link because we do not intend to translate the entire site. Currently, we have a few posts translated into three languages.

Symptoms:

Questions:
How can I convert the translated posts back into the main language (e.g., English) without manually reposting them?
How can I remove WPML media duplicates from the uploads folder to free up space?
Are there any precautions I should take before completely removing WPML from the site?
Is there a recommended way to back up WPML-related data before removal, in case something goes wrong?

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us.

While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.

1) You can unlink them and then set the language of that post how you wish:

https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-disconnect-translations-from-the-default-language-page-or-post/

2) There is no WPML media duplicate files, only entries in DB.

3) You can use regular backup tools and backup your website.

You should follow the next guide to remove language and WPML:
