I am having a problem with hyperlinks inside posts and pages. Each language has its own set of hyperlinks, and we have been updating all of the links in each language manually. The problem is that every time we make an update to the English page / post, the other language pages are also updated, and the hyperlinks are also changed back and deleted all our hard work.

I would like to know how to bypass updating the hyperlinks. Is it possible to update only the text and graphic elements of the page/post without updating the hyperlinks ?

Hello!

Could you please walk us through your process? from what you mention it seems that you have duplicated the pages and if that's the case, then the workflow you're following won't work.

Please write the steps you take from creation of the page until translation and update of hyperlinks so we can better understand what you're doing and hopefully help you find a solution.

I appreciate your answer. Here are the steps I followed:

Creating a web [ hidden link ] in English.
WPML Translate automatically case study page hidden link to Spanish
Editing the Spanish case study page and editing the hyperlinks (DOWNLOAD hyperlink ) because the hyperlinks are the same. Each language has a different hyperlinks.
Updating the case study page [ hidden link ] in English.
All the links in Spanish hidden link were back to the same as before the edit to the Spanish page.
I hope this is helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello There,
I hope you're doing well.

Thank you for your explanation. I clearly understood the issue.

If a page is translated automatically, please don't make any changes manually on that translated page. This is because any manual changes made to the translated page will be overwritten when you update the translation again. It's always advisable to use a particular translation mode consistently.

Please check this article to know more about why the translation is not showing: https://wpml.org/faq/why-arent-my-translations-showing/

Now, if you want to adjust the links on the translated page, you'll be able to do that from the Translation editor. To understand the process, please follow the instructions mentioned in the documentation below.

I hope it will help. But, feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
